Very nice job, congrats! And what do you think about use LW-PLA at wings and front fuse to reduce weight?
@SuperJayJoe
@SuperJayJoe 2 ай бұрын
There is no need to print parts with LW-PLA. My 125% XL Bobber is with 3kg on the heavy side but it flies very good and can also be flown pretty slow. If you want to print it with 125% size, you need more weight in the nose anyway for the correct CG. I had to glue the tray for the lipo packs directly behind the motor and it aditional needed some lead in the nose.

In the past, Multiplex and other major brands, offered good quality planes that could last for decades. Now, you can only get planes made from packaging material and low quality. Even normal use will wear out this junk. Also life cycle of these is short and after some years you cannot obtain spare parts. I rather build from plans now, but most of us do not have the patience for this.

Of course! This motor delivers 1000 watts on 3S and is more than enough for this heavy 125% upscaled 3d printed Big Bobber from Planeprint. I'am flying with 1/3 throttle all the time.😉 But 13x6 prop nowadays. That's more efficient.

Did you sand the entire plane before painting?
@SuperJayJoe

No, I don't sand planes printed with PLA. That would ruin the nice and shiny look of the PLA. I use acrylic paint that bonds perfect to PLA surfaces. The only material I grind is LW-PLA, just to get a nicer surface.
