Hey guys, was curious if you had any opinions on the Leap Worklounge? I got one a while back second-hand and it was an amazing chair but it's starting to show some wear. I'd love to find someone to servie it. Hard to find any support documents or even reviews on it. Just got a Leap V2 and was surprised to find how different it is. The seat depth adjustment is a huge plus coming from the worklounge, and the lighter weight components are nice. Although the Leap Worklounge's build quality is surprisingly on a different level.

Have you guys ever covered the difference in seat comfort for women versus men? I haven't done the upgrade through Crandall yet. I wanted their bioknit fabric, but frankly they've been out of almost every color for months and their customer service has no idea when they will be restocked. I got tired of checking their website. Also the bioknit is supposed to be their standard fabric, yet it's a $20 upcharge, which is ridiculous. Upgrading both cushions and getting the bioknit comes out to $250 before tax...

@btodtv
@btodtv 11 ай бұрын
I'd say that they took something great and made it unergonomic in order to appease a tiny fraction of the population of people that don't like the Leap. They have a fundamental misunderstanding of why the Leap seat isn't great for everyone and because of that, they've created something that Steelcase would never do. I'll trust Steelcase and their millions of dollars they've poured in R&D than Crandall the 10 people in his office. -Ryan

@@btodtvlooks like you might be a little salty that someone realized some areas of improvement that could be made on an already solid product and made it happen. The improvements Crandall has made to the Leap V2 make it much more similar in design and comfort to the Leap V1 high back that is widely regarded as one of the most comfortable chairs ever made. I absolutely hate that I can't fully lock the back on my Steelcase Leap chair. I've had it for about a year now. Sure, its more comfortable than my previous $200 chair. But I spend my entire work shift on the chair other than breaks and the chair can get irritating. I often need to work at a fast pace which requires I sit upright in a more rigid position. But the damn back doesn't lock so I end up slouching after a while. Also, the seat cushion is garbage. It doesn't take long before by butt begins to hurt and the chair starts cutting off circulation to my legs even with the flexible seat which is the main reason why I purchased the chair. I've had $100 chairs with more comfortable seat cushions. The Steelcase Leap is a nice chair but not worth anywhere near $1000 in my opinion. If you want this chair buy it used.

Great ergonomics, but the seat padding is really disappointing. I'm around 110kg, and after about 4 months of use the padding of the chair is mostly...not gone but it's nowhere near as comfy as before, with my butt constantly feeling a bit of pain. It's definitely a firm seat in the first place, but still, needs more support or thicker foam to be honest. At least you can take the seat apart and get it reupolstered, but that's just an extra cost on top of an absurdly expensive chair. Get one second hand for half the price and re-do the foam if need be.

Am I the only one getting tingling in my right leg sitting on Leap? I've tried all the different adjustments. It feels like my weight is always distributed on my right buttock rather than left. Can it be because my Leap's back is warped and sticks out a forward a bit on the left side causing me lean to the right? Others say warped back is normal and even out when you sit in it but I feel like it presses against my back a little on the left. Maybe I'm just not as heavy as an average american for this to work..

After giving me a decade of good service, my now 20 year old $100 pre-owned Aeron is getting very long in the tooth. The mesh bottom is beginning to fray under where your knees go, and the tilt lock is questionable; it'll give way sometimes when you sit in it. I replaced the cam and that fixed it for a while, but it's back to being wonky again. The pneumatic tube is getting weak. The final nail in the coffin for it is the fact that the right side arm rest snapped off (old-school Aeron with the Oreo height lock wheels, versus the flip-flop locks). I really wanted to replace it with another Aeron, but the video of the whacky CEO of HM berating her employees really, really rubbed me the wrong way. After my brother bought a Leap v2, I gave it a good test drive. I immediately fell in love with it. The Aeron gave me solid service, but the Leap is just a more comfortable chair all around for me. The corporate discount we get through Steelcase made it a no-brainer, too. Can't wait for it to arrive.

What's so interesting is that the pad itself is identical, but the way it sits in the v1 it feels a bit less thin/firm. Have you tried the v1.5? -GK

I have been having back problems and have been looking at new chairs for a while. I have seen you guys consistently say this is a great chair. Well watching this review I suddenly realized this is the chair I have had for a couple of years and I have never liked it. My wife brought it home from work during COVID and actually switched it out because she didn’t like it. I got stuck with it and have been having some major back problems recently. This chair absolutely does not have enough support in my opinion. If you don’t need a lot of support this chair might be fine but I can’t believe this is the chair you guys have been hyping up so much.

I’ll be honest, adjustability is great and versatile, now uncomfortable as fuck. The lower back push too much with any setting. They gotta be crazy to sell this chair for that much. I paid $200 and isn’t worthy

This was one of my top choices, until Steelcase ruined their reputation by decreasing their warranty in the UK to 5 years for non-business customers. This is not something I'm ever going to forgive them for and I'm never buying their products.

that sucks because their chairs can easily go 10+ years so the 5 year warranty is pretty useless..

@@bando3107 I have no doubt the chairs can last decades and beyond, but when you're buying a brand new from a top tier brand, you expect the best policies. At least Herman Miller stand by their policy internationally.

@@bando3107 I bought a generic $350 chair over a decade ago. After a few months of using the leap, I switched back to the generic chair. I really wish there was a name on the chair because I would love to buy another one. The site I bought it through no longer exists.

Aw man that sucks hard. The steelcase chairs looked very promising but this might just push me to buy a Herman Miller if I can try one that's equally comfortable. 5 vs 12 years is just too much of a difference.

@@gamingmarcus It's a bummer for sure, especially if you're not a fan of mesh or in general how Herman Miller makes their chairs. I initially tried out the Mirra 2, but returned it as I started getting thigh pain. It was an excellent chair, on par with the Leap v2 by sheer virtue of the adjustments it offers. I ended up getting an Aeron remastered instead, and I've been loving it. I definitely recommend buying new Herman Miller chairs in the UK, as you can still get the 12 years warranty. Steelcase chairs are not worth buying new anymore, so if you're still keen on buying one it's best to get a refurbished one imo.

I will never buy another Steelcase chair again. Absolutely waste of money and after watching their videos, they design these chairs for robots, not people. No human sits perfectly all the time and most of us don't want to sit perfectly all the time.If you don't sit in these chairs perfectly, they are extremely uncomfortable.
