Laughed out loud at the 'clear prop' and chuckled through the rest of the video. You two have great fun and it makes for amusing content. Thanks for the time and effort in editing etc. Great stuff.

Another awesome video for me, revision to watch. Hopefully I will continue my lessons in a week or two when we are out of lockdown. It will be nearly 2 months since I last flew. Thanks for the video.

My instructor had me do left steep turns first to build my confidence, takes a lot more right rudder input and gotta be on the pitch a bit more in those right ones. Love to see it though man! Newer faces in our world is always a welcomed sight.

I'm training for my IFR rating right now. I'm planning on doing a pre-checkride and oral with another instructor. Might be worth it just to get a different perspective before you slap down that cash for a DPE.

My left steep turns are always better than my right for some reason too! I think it has to do with dominance in our vision

Gareth, you need to convince your instructor to take you to Bob White and do an actual soft field landing, just in case you have a real engine out you'll know what the real thing (soft field that is) is like. Lewis enjoys doing real soft field landings ;)

Why You always fly with gear down? Btw great video as always, it is sometimes tricky to go back with strong wind in the face.
@LewDixAviation
@LewDixAviation 3 жыл бұрын
Because to bring the gear up requires a great amount of tools to detach it and bring it inside the aircraft. Not something I'm prepared to hang off the wing and do during the departure leg...

You'll do great Gareth, I go my ticket Thursday in a 181 Archer ll. I filed discontinuance because my attitude indicator started mocking a hula dancer when we started up for flight test. On climb out heading home it adjusted so we turned around since DPE didn't leave. By the time we were done I was testing all day. You'll do fine...take your time and clean the plane up before next maneuver. Relax and just fly the plane, easy peasy.

Oh, on oral be prepared to have takeoff and landing roll figured. My cross country all had runways over 5,000 ft so I never did this. I was scrambling with the shitty graphs in POH, figuring density altitude and all that while the instructor sat and waited. Got it figured but balls don't need that added stress.
@ZeroThreeDelta
@ZeroThreeDelta 3 жыл бұрын
@@chriszeitler4613 Ha. Luckily, Mr Dixon requires the rolls to be listed on his W&B sheets.

@@ZeroThreeDelta Fantastic. Our density altitude is like -4,500 this time of year which isn't even close to being on the charts. Takes off like a rocket with 25° flaps.
