I’ve been craving a night vision setup with both passive and active options of a shooting. PLEASE do a video of low buck vs hi buck. Like a full load out with a Holosun, PVS 7, and eBay laser then compare it to a rich man setup.

This may be discontinued but for some reason Steiner still lists them for sale on their website.... or rather the multiple copies of old pages on their website they never updated/deleted.

Steiner has a problem of not really discontinuing their products. They continue to produce a lot of their discontinued products for contracts. That's why you can still find brand new i2s for sale intermittently. Same with the a4 but idk when the last time I've seen a few for sale. Supposedly steiner had an order for them a few months ago.

You know Hop, I bet you'd have a good insight now on what illuminators work well with digital night vision after running the sionyx for Moons Out Goons Out. I ended up getting some NVG30s, and I'm about to get a laser/illuminator combo. The problem is a lot of the throw from illuminators mess with the digital sensors, I feel a laser is probably better. However having an illuminator on the gun closer to your target I feel is more applicable than the onboard illuminator from the optic. What do you think?

Hey amigo, there’s a hairbrained red dot mount out there now that relies on magnetic attraction to the slide of a handgun and a rear iron sight it simultaneously indexes into to retain the sight. I am one of many in the legion of extreme skepticism who would like to see your opinion on this doodad. I’m inclined to say it’s a gimmick as you probably wouldn’t be swapping mrds from handgun to handgun often but this does allow the user to skip getting the slide cut Thanks in advance.

Luke and I checked it out at NRAAM. Seems like a waste of time because it requires rear sight replacement. To say nothing of the other issues with using magnets for that.

The controls aren't really all that bad. There's definitely a learning curve involved and the mawl does do a better job over all but if it was still available, and the price point was better, I would buy another one to replace the one I had.

I have a ton of Steiner products but they are over priced. Under federal law if a product is offered to both the Military & Civilian Market they have to be priced the same, thank to all corruption and price rouging during Iraq & Afghanistan, however Steiner holds no US Military Contracts so there is no reason for their products to be priced so high especially since they are reduced power, the only good thing is used Steiner are generally pretty cheap, and over the past 3-4 years I have been able to buy 7+ DBALS for $600-$1000 in like new condition.

Just going to say that it is fun and games watching reviews of sub-par IR lasers, and shitty NV equipment in general. Gives us all a good chuckle, but if things did go south in this country and you had to rely on this stuff to keep you alive, then make the right decision, spend the money, and get the quality stuff that gives you the best chance at survival. MAWL being one of those quality items. This is your life we are talking about, and people need to think about how that not only affects you, but the people that would be depending on you if shit went south. 🫤💀☠☠☠
