Steins;Gate, a visual novel turned anime phenomenon, consistently tops lists of the medium's all time greats, but it can be an intimidating series to get into. In this video, I explore why it is so beloved, where it fits in the larger Science Adventure universe, and how best for new fans to approach this incredible time travel adventure. Whether in this worldline or the next, this is a series you absolutely cannot miss... it's the will of Steins;Gate!

Great video. I do have one small gripe though. Kurisu is undoubtably far more traditionally intelligent and competent than okabe, but okabe has something very important that kurisu lacks: the ability to think outside the box. There are several times in the show when kurisu is held back by her rigid preconcieved notions, and okabe must break her out if it in order for them both to succeed. They complete eachother.

There is no true ending! If Okabe erased Faris father in Universe A, in Universe B, Okabe didn't erased her father. If Okabe changed Lukako gender in Universe A, in Universe B Okabe didn't changed Lukako gender,. In Universe A, Okabe send that D-mail to not follow Suzuha, in Universe B, Okabe didn't send that D-mail. If Universe A, Okabe reach Steins Gate, in Universe B, Okabe didn't reach Steins Gate. I believe in parallel universes! Okabe is a playboy, because he havet relationships with all the girls from the lab.

@@defeatthematrix680 For steins gate at least, they explicitly say there is only one timeline that can be happening at the current moment so there's no such thing as universe A or B. I think the different endings are rly just a result of different choices made that can be entirely canon or not depending on how u see it
@defeatthematrix680
@defeatthematrix680 2 жыл бұрын
@@panther1247 Each timeline represent a combination of different timelines. Worldline is a reference to a Parallel Universe, that's why these different endings were made in the first place, to show what would happen if Okabe didn't press that button. Different Worldline it's just like a Parallel Universe. People can't live without causality unfortunate! I don't know if Lukako ending and Faris ending are Canon, because we didn't see their endings in Steins Gate deja Vu, Okabe was in park, and he saw the evil Nae, and Okabe that created that loop, so Suzuha ending when she left with Okabe in 1975 it's Canon, the evil Nae it's Canon too, and if these two are Canon then that means that Worldlines are Parallel Universes.

Rewatching S;G anime made me recall on why I like it so much. The characters, the plot, everything! And even if the story is linear in the anime (at least most of the time), I still hold it near and dear to my heart as one of the best series I have seen so far, and one thing I have noticed in the series is that the author has clearly done his research while writing the VN, as some topics about time travel being discussed in the anime/VN is quite close to how real time travel can be achieved, especially when the Large Hadron Collider is used. At least except with the test subjects dying...as far as I know.

Yooo, Even though I'm not a fan of Sci-Fi or time travel fiction, I recently saw the anime for the first time last month and really enjoyed the characters. @@bringinthedope5929 I dont know about visual novels in general, but the steins gate vns were some of the best pieces of literature I have ever experienced. Thats personally speaking. For the sg vn. You see alternative paths For the sg0 vns meanwhile.... You get to see a glimpse into the true insanity of the Steins Gate Zero story. The many different okabes in many different worldlines that had to suffer for one to CREATE THE Okabe who will make the plan. You can think of the steins gate 0 anime as the crystallization of all these different worldlines. The different things that needed to happen in order to create an Okabe who will send the message for original steins gate okabe to succeed. Steins gate 0 VNs get more fun if you understand how time travel works in steins gate universe, and it gets even more fun once you begin piecing things together. Luckily! There are people out there who already did it for you! You just need to look them up.

A top analysis of an incredible series. The story and its satellite side adventures are a hallmark of my experience and even if you know the anime back to front, I highly recommend you play the Visual Novels for the amount of amazing depth and character exploration the anime just doesn't come close to achieving. I also recommend you look at the Muv-Luv series if you haven't as of yet. Another life changing story and accomplishment of narrative crafting. Muv-Luv was even nodded to be the primary inspiration for the writer of Attack on Titan.

I absolutely hate it when people complain about the "boring" first half of Steins;Gate, it isn't boring at all, it's actually endearing and essential to the utter clusterfuck that follows afterwards, all the way to Steins;Gate 0. The first half in my opinion, is the best parts of the show, where we can just sit back and watch the labmems fool around and slowly get caught up in the madness of time travel.

This has to be one of the most clever review videos I have ever seen. Suggestions: Shengeki No Sama FOOD WARS (Or the cooking anime genre as a whole), or the popularity of Isekai (character enters a sword and sorcery world through either reincarnation, teleportation or simply steps out of a C-Store). Isekai seems to have the same desires as Time Travel. Just as much as the Protagonist wants to change a certain event in their lives, Isekai gives the Protagonist the chance to start their whole lives over again as a new person.

Amazing video for some reason those first couple of minutes of the video gave me that same feeling of awe when I watched Steins;Gate you got yourself a new subscriber and its well deserved. Interesting thing that happened to me Steins;Gate got me into visual novels since I really loved it I wanted something similar to the anime so I found "Yu-no a girl who chants love at the bound of this world" and while it was a point and click style of visual novel I heard how Steins;Gate was inspired by this visual novel and after over 100 hours of exploring the different branches I finished it and I could definitely see the potential which led to the rest of the science adventure series.

Too bad the western port of yu-no is bad, the official translation is worse than the fanmade one and it was censored on all platform's

I love that people are still talking about Steins;Gate so long after it came out. It really shows just how good it is when most anime these days seems to be consumed then forgotten.

I'd love to see you make a video about Ping Pong the Animation (or the manga which is also a classic). I feel like the art and animation style can turn off a lot of prospective viewers. But, that art style is part of what makes it so great. It meshes so incredibly well with the story. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the series.

8:59 - 9:09 I kinda disagree here. While each mainline SciADV game was made with the intent that it *could* be played standalone, I wouldn't ever say it's to the extent that they can all be *fully enjoyed* without prior knowledge. From R;N onwards, the series' connections go far beyond simple references and callbacks. Rather, it gets to the point of hard narrative and thematic connections so most SciADV entries often demand prior knowledge for the full experience (Steins;Gate is the exception here). For instance, the last third of R;N makes no sense if you haven't read C;H first. And C;C, being a thematic sequel, is outright a sequel to C;H in every way other than with its cast. I'd go so far as to say that reading C;C before C;H is almost as bad as reading S;G 0 before S;G. There's a reason that even the C;C anime adaptation spent an episode recapping the events of C;H rather than using it on C;C itself (which already had an extremely limited runtime). And lastly, R;N DaSH effectively requires you to have read all 3 of C;H, S;G, and R;N beforehand given that its plot revolves around delusionary science dynamics brought from the Chaos; series, it's a direct follow-up to R;N, and that its cast consists of both R;N and S;G characters. Really, the game's whole goal is to bridge S;G and R;N's casts together. Banger video though. I loved it, especially since you mentioned S;G's place in SciADV (which the overwhelming majority of other S;G videos completely omit). Fantastic editing too.

Yeah, robotic;notes dash is unplayable if you didn't play S;G, and confusing if you haven't played either chaos game's (even then, C;C player's will be confused as to what brainwave field device are, since it's a CH thing, plus missing the reason why kaito has the power he has in the first place)
