Part of why cybrex is good is because having the ring world in your borders massively increases the chances of getting the mega engineering tech, in my experience it can make a difference of up to 50 years. For mega engineering rushers this is huge.

Small correction to that: You can conquer an Ecumenopolis from a fallen empire as well (even without Megacorp). Dunno which fallen empires have them but I picked up a 20 tile one from a Keeper of Knowledge empire to go with my First League one.

Handicapped myself with life seeded perk and then all of the sudden I get an eccuminopolis and I have the most powerful empire in the game. Thank you first league

I love the RP element of the First League too. It's like you are rebuilding Coruscant.

One more point, if you have any megastructure (including ruined ones) in your empire you are much more likely to pick up the mega-engineering tech once you fulfill the conditions. This makes the cybrex much more valuable as it may mean that you canstart building megastrucutres much earlier.

I wish they would just give each of the non-ring world and Ecumenopolis precursors some other kind of mega structure to balance it out. Also it sucks if you get the planet with 10 energy and 5 gas you can't even build a mining station on it until you learn how to mine gas....I'm calling it the stupid rule.

Here’s a strategy to go around and use. This is a strategy best suited to conquest. Step 1: Spam science ships, you need to explore rapidly, and gather the artifacts. This should be in the first 30-50 years. Get the artifacts ASAP (Note: Focus less on Navy, and get economy to an Ok level. This will be later.) Step 2: Go for Homeworld! Capture it and take your resources of the world. This is important to conquer it as soon as possible in the Early game. Settle it, and then begin to get your empire up. Step 3: Find a protective or dominant empire. Become a protectorate of said empire, and then focus on improving your Navy as much as possible. The technology boost should allow your fleet to grow in size. You want around 50-60k. This should be at most 2350. Step 4: Declare independence and conquer previous empire. Once conquered with your giant naval force, you should be able to conquer your previous ruler. Step 5: Close borders, and build. You want a very tall and strong empire. Get your economy to a max. In this part, you should play like a fallen empire. Stay neutral, and basically be the dominant force. Step 6: Crisis. The crisis is happening, and you have 2 routes to go by. You could federate, with most other empires, open your borders, unite the galaxy, defeat the threat and claim victory. Or... let the galaxy burn around you, other empires falling until it is you, and the crisis left. It’s your time. Send out your massive fleet and kick out the invaders. Step 7: you did it. You have won. You have explored, fallen, awaken, and saved the galaxy. Be sure to save at least one tribal species Incase you die to carry on the legacy. You will be the next precursor...

Interesting tp know about the relation between starting location and the precursor races. I got lucky with my last game that it triggered the First League and while their capital ended up spawning inside the borders of a neighbor, sly politics allowed my to still get my paws on it XD

When I did the Yuht Empire precursor chain I also received a system that had a size 10 ecumenopolis (the moon orbiting the original yuht homeworld).

Getting the First League is also the only way (aside from capturing one) to get an Ecumenopolis as a Machine Empire

I've watched so many of your videos and yet have only done one playthrough. I'm playing on a lower difficulty, but I got the first league in this first playthrough and I've grown large after defeating a Fanatical Purifier. Now everyone but these fallen empire guys are pathetic or inferior in strength, and times are good. Your videos have helped me understand this game at light speed, and now I'm wondering if I should have set the difficulty up more!

One huge thing about the Cybrix nowdays as of the archeology update, is that you can spend 50 artifacts to learn the secrets of the cybrix, and you wont get disappointed as it gives you exactly what you need: Megastructure reconstruction!

Fun Fact. Depending on your Endgame Crysis (Contingency), the Cybrex will actually return from the grave to save the universe from the Endgame Crysis...apparently.

I think they should change the Yuth, Irassian and Vultaaum to have something more worthwhile, or as OP as the Cybrex and The First League (maybe make their worlds colonizable? with super good structures to repair? I'm sure the Irassians would have had nice hospitals that can give a pop growth boost [Which, at least, as a Hive mind, I find it wonderful to have one or more planets that produce a lot of pops and just keep resettling them to the ones that are struggling a little bit], or the Yuth amazing engineering institutes with wonders of data to help your research, and the Vultaaum and their VR stuff could maybe give an amenities boost on all planets)

It's worth to mention that Cybrex may actually also Spawn a new, helping empire in case of one of end game events.

Cybrex is my favorite. You basically get a 20-district Gaia World for a few months' worth of energy credits, and you can min-max by "zoning" the four ring sections for different kinds of production (energy, food, trade, or research) with all the right buildings and none of the wrong ones. **EDIT 2020/07/31** Yeah, no. I've played a few hundred more hours and I hold out for First League every time now. It's basically unlimited alloys for the rest of the game if you turn it into a "foundry world."

in my savegame with my friend, he got the ringword and i got very jealous because he got the ruined ringworld, because i wanted to rush mega engineering. but few years later the ecumenopolis spawned next to me. so all the suden i wasn't very jealous anymore XD

Yuhtaan is very nice for quick boost to get your home world to produce 1000 science in relatively early in the game if you are hive mind who spammed galaxy with research ships and went discovery first, and got good starting position. The 6 gas are quite good when you have 4-5 science buildings in your home world to upgrade when you first research the wells and hive minds mainly need minerals to make that switch, and they grow population much faster especially since they grow at maximum speed in planets even if they only have 1 pop on the surface.

You could get the cybrex warform , ITS the best like 10 units are 5000 army power but you need energy to make it which is okay

You can also get an ecumenopolis by conquering the materialist fallen empire homeworld, because they changed it to a ecumenopolis. Still, the precursor event-chain is a lot cheaper, quicker and easier but the fallen empire a good second option.

That map you showed at the beginning might need some updating. Started on a 1,000 star map, next to galactic center, in the purple and what do I get... Yuht.

From my two playthroughs of stellaris on the latest version this is 100% accurate. Its bordeline scary how accurate it is.

I maintain that the Cybrex are so obscenely good as a precursor You get: Most of a ringworld built for you, you just have to complete sections. The mega-engineering tech option (ignoring pre-requisites, year-based weighting, etc etc. You just get to research it.) 10% Megastructure build speed to make sure you can crank out those unreasonably early megastructures. Then there's the artifact, which is *much* better than it seems. 5k. alloys every 900 days at the cost of influence and 10k minerals is about 166 alloys per month, without pops, buildings, energy credits, etc etc, you just need to cough up the minerals. Because of your early mega-engineering, you might even build a matter decompressor and just use the minerals from that, too. The warforms are... nice. They can let you take some larger invasions without losing any armies, it's not crazy like reanimators or anything (though, interestingly, they *can* be reanimated!) but what they offer is something a bit more unreasonable.. The Cybrex warforms are *amazingly* good for 'storing' alloys for free. They take 500 days to build, and you can que up as many as you like for 250 alloys each. You can always find it at your homeworld, and just need to check in once a year to make sure one doesn't finish building. (In comparison, using battleships to float means you need to dedicate a shipyard(s), meaning you need to dedicate a starbase, and depending how many buffs you have to ship build speed, you may need to check in quite often)

Modern day revision: cybrex best now. Because to get galactic wonders you only need 1 segment restored. Ecumenopolis is 2md best now. Very powerful but not as much as ringworld. Plus the cybrex artifact makes it the best precursor for robot empires.

Maybe a little bit late, but when my memory is right, you can get a ringworld without any DLCs (only stargates, no other mega structures in the main game available), when you get the cybrex event. Maybe changed with some patches, was at the time where alloys wasn t in the game and you need just energy, food and minerals ( a short time befor the big patch, where alloys and other stuff were add to the game). So at this point, it was like 4 gaiaworlds with size25 for free, except you need a lot of minerals to build it. When this didn t change, you can get even today a ringworld without any DLCs. Realy op in a game when nobody can build any mega structure. Sry for the bad grammer, but english is not my nativ language.

@6:45 Yeah, that's where ASpec got it majorly wrong, like everyone is saying--the ringworld's PRIMARY boost, arguably, especially because it comes in so late and is "just" a ringworld you could build on your own (and probably eventually would), is it giving you way more likely early access to tech and/or the ascension perk galactic wonders by repairing it--on my tall habitat-build megastructure rush playthrough (first try at the idea no less) I rolled Cybrex, and MY GOD...

And don’t Forget Sanctuary, which was made by the precursors, and Zanaam’s Guardians.

Fen Habbenis has been nerfed, it's better to use it as a relic world for research and gas production with mines. Clearing the blockers gain minor artefacts, it's worth doing Last Secrets of FL for industrial engineering bonus (also add speciality to the scientist). You can convert any old world into an ecumenonopolis (with Megacorp DLC). Another option is to conquer the materialist FE's capital "The Keeper of Knowledge*.

In my current game, i got the Yuht. When i found the home system. Yuthaan Majoris had a moon, named Yuthaan Minoris. It was a size 11 eucemonopolis. Don't know if it will happen again, but i was pretty happy nonetheless. Could be a very rare thing.

Precursor homeworlds seem to spawn on a random unexplored star near your empire capital in my experience, you could possibly control where it spawns by ignoring surveying a few selective stars I forgot to survey one star connected directly to my starting system, it was quite convenient to have the Cybrex homeworld show up in the heart of my empire

Had it once right in the area of a fallen empire, that did not open their border. So that Was fun

I feel that the Cybrex need a buff in usability. Having a free ring world is neat, but it being broken means that it will take you a looooooooooong time to make use of it. I think the ring world having one intact portion would be a good and fair trade off.

Truth be told the first league event chain is only good if you ever plain on upgrading to V2.2 or greater, if your like me and don't plan on upgrading until paradox fix the broken AI issues cybrex should still be your go to event chain

So I can confirm that of 2019 the first league on console does not spawn ecimonopolas

I got the cybrex and it spawned with one hyperlane that connects to the system that can only be accessed with a wormhole

A few days ago, I played my first Ironman game, on Ensign difficulty with Corporate authority(Crime Syndicate + Megachurch), and the precursor I got was the First League. Managed to find the Ecumenopolis by Mid-Game, and it won the game for me. By End Game I had 2 Ecumenopolii, and 400k total fleet power. Now I'm in the End Game of a new save, Ironman too, but in Captain difficulty and also with Corporate authority, but more on the traditional capitalist megacorporation. Ended up with the Yuht, so I pushed for Ecumenopolis Ascension Perk Mid Game, same results as my Ensign Game, though here I have half the galaxy as subsidiaries. Long Live Ecumenopolis!

got the first league event chain my first game back since utopia, that ecomenopolis was immediately renamed to Nova Roma and currently supplies my empire with all the consumer goods I could ever want.

On my first game, I had the Cybrex and it spawned LITERALLY connected to my home world in terms of hyoerlanes

I finished the Cybrex part and the ring world just happened to be at a fanatical purifier border who happened to be advanced and actually started rebuilding it. I was very pissed off. Not only it take me forever to get all 6 artifacts but to find out they have it and live on it

The Cybrex is in mine opinion actually quite good, for Vanilla players its the only Way to even get a Ring world. And even if u go for the master Builder ascencion perks Cyberx is still Good because it gives u a higher Chance off getting mega engenieering early

There is actually another way to get an ecumenopolis without Megacorp. I had one spawn in a fallen empire. It was called fount of knowledge or something like that. Sadly neutron sweeps cannot be used on ecumenopoli (idk maybe a bug?), so we had to exterminate the meatbags the old-fashioned way.

Honestly I've always wondered if all Precursors were in each galaxy. The think that always confused me was if you got the ancient drones event on one of your colonies and they unearth one of the First Leagues satellites when you didn't have the First League Precursor event chain. Or in the same vain when you get the Contingency and the Cybrex randomly pop up out of the blue when you didn't get their event chain. That brings up the question however, is it possible to get all of the Precursor's home worlds in a single game, or is it only the first one found (or only the one the player finds in solo).

Fen is not the the Only Ecu of the game in vanilla, there is also the Font of knoweldge Getting the Cybrex system, aka the ruined ring world, also drasticly increase your chance of getting Mega engineering

Hey Aspec, one thing I wanted to say that you missed out on is that the Cybrex are still very useful if you plan to go mega-engineering because it has a 20x weight added to the Giga-engineering tech you need to take the ascension perk. It's a guaranteed way to get a mega structure ruin within your border for that bonus. Otherwise getting the giga-engineering tech to draw is ridiculously hard, even stacking the deck.

My current play through I've lucked out immensely I started with the ruined encumenopolis homeworld backstory I got first league homeworld got encumenopolis from them then somehow found three more throughout the galaxy so I have five of them plus like 30 other worlds 6 of which are Gaia worlds I conquered from fallen empires early in the mid game the rest are tropical worlds my Federation of two has conquered 90% of the galaxy and about to finish off the last remaining independent civilization already taken over the l-gate from the nanite civilization and it's barely the year 2368

The cybrex is broken as hell for machine empires. You can just use your OP influence to keep a permanent +50% pop assembly speed if you have artifacts dlc

Fun fact- if your neighbors like you, and they find a precursor artifact they might give it to you for free.

Man, First League is so good compared to the other precursors. Cybrex is good enough because you get early access to mega-engineering, but I wish the devs would buff the others so you get better rewards on par with the League's ecumenopolis and the Cybrex's tech boost

In one of my runs where I took about half of the huge map my entire fleet was taken out by the cybrex

i have terrible luck with these, they spawn in my neighbours hyperlane network nearly a third of the time for me. not a big issue for conquors but it really sucks for diplomatic empires

Not sure how good the Cybrex event is on Le Guin since I can't play it. But as of Niven its insanely useful for tall life seeded empires rushing habitats and megastructures. A bit niche I know but it still has its uses.
