What kind of sorcery did you use to get that damn bushing in? I've been at it for hours for just one... still can't get it started...

haha same. I'm gonna need a tiger king pin removal tool pretty soon here.
@bmdbigfeet10313 жыл бұрын
@@ConTheDon187 No shit. Why don't they show a video where the pin is just alot more than stubborn. And I haven't seen a tiger tool for these yet. Could sure one.
@ConTheDon1873 жыл бұрын
@@bmdbigfeet1031 I can tell you my boss destroyed one of these on a kingpin that was seized to the bushings in the knuckle, it's why I'm hesitant on buying one right now, if it fails in the middle of a job its gonna be very problematic.
@bmdbigfeet10313 жыл бұрын
@@ConTheDon187 I looked up the tiger tool and it exists. I ended up making my own pin press and it worked but not without any help from a torch. I made the bottom narrow but wide enough for the pin to push through while I had a 10 ton porta power on top. Found a piece of grader cutting edge for the top plate clamp, used 1in ready rod through the top clamp to the bottom and proceeded to pour the juice to it. The portapower was maxed out then I went for the good ole gas axe. Had to climb back into my skin when it finally popped. Was all down hill from there.
@ConTheDon1873 жыл бұрын
@@bmdbigfeet1031 yeah for the cost of this tool I think I'm just gonna make a jig for my 20ton pneumatic jack and give it a go

Don't heat axle. This tool never touched a bus.
@MarcoHernandez-du6im2 жыл бұрын
That’s what I was thinking, I’ve done kingpins on MCI buses and dang those Lock pins are a pain in the butt I basically have to melt them with a torch.

@bobocaterpillar36974 жыл бұрын
@@davidortega7957 oh, ive done these CORRECTLY, HUNDREDS of times before... the RIGHT way to do it is to press in new bushings with tooling and HONE them to fit ( also with special king pin tooling ) .... NOT screw in a cheap ass looking piece of SOFT metal! this looks like stuff you do to a truck going to *auction* !! i bet it doesn't get HALF of the life of the original! oh yeah ... and NEVER seen kingpins come out this easy before! 0:50 🙄 yet again ...their is a pin pressing tool to remove stubborn pins for that $$$$ big trucks = big money
@walterbrown42783 жыл бұрын
Hundreds of times. You sure you are doing it right. I have used these and never had no problem with them. If you done it hundreds of time then you must work in a alignment shop and don’t own a truck
