Thank you so much for this video, great job. It took me three days to get it out and it is back in again and I will finish it tomorrow hopefully. BTW, the special plastic parts holding the wire-harness to the engine block I bought on AMAZON. I think I paid $12 for 20 pieces. To get the two difficult to get to bolts holding the engine and transmission together, I took a couple of moving blankets and laid them over the engine. Laying on my belly on top of the engine I got to the two bolts as I kind of new where they were. Your video also showed me that I could actually do it as I saw you doing it.

There is also a bracket that bolts to the trans and engine! Bolts near the passenger cv axle and the engine

very informative - now i am not looking forward much at all to attempting this myself in order to change the timing chain/water pump... i was thinking that job is a piece of cake if the engine is out. but the removing of the engine part trade off is questionable.

Been looking for this! I have an 07 with nearly 300k on it and she still runs great, but would love to pull the engine and do a complete rebuild on it. Doesn’t look nearly as difficult as I had feared.

I think in my opinion, its easier to drop the engine cradle trans and front end put the bottom while on a lift

When I put the top bolt in the starter I took bolt to part store got a rubber o ring that fit tight over the bolt put top bolt threw starter hole put oring over threads it held the bolt in place put starter back put bottom bolt in just a little then the top bolt and then tighten

Take off the heatshield on the exhaust manifold and make sure the manifold isnt cracked in the middle (like mine is). Im about to pull my engine out today/tomorrow once I get the last few bolts off between the engine and transmission

I just got a 08 hhr for a few hundred bucks the car runs hot even without a thermostat im planning on replacing the motor the motor that's in it came out a 08 malibu 😅
