I'm not an electrician but I love this video and others from you. So professional, clear speaking, not condescending and no unnecessary frills. I'm a computer programmer but thinking of acquiring some other skills and like learning about electrics. Thanks.

I'm so glad you are doing a conduit bending series, its helping to keep my waste down as I dont do it that often so end up with a few failed sets. A quick tip for finding your length between those to conduit boxes and anything else where the two items are dimensionaly the same. In your example hook your tape measure to the left hand outside edge of the vertical female threaded port of your first conduit box then measure to the same place on the second conduit box you will find if I have described it right you come to the same 500mm figure if not a bit more accurate. It saves the guess work of finding the centre of each item and can be done by one person even if the two points are metres away.

This is good but old school. It would be good if you could show also where you need to show circumstances where you may need to produce a bridge set or a bubble to overcome obstacles, and circumstances where you need to add a runner (running coupler with a locknut) It's good to see the old school methods are still here.

I have a IRWIN HILMOR EL32 bender The former has no markings or notches what so ever, So if I was to an offset or 3 point or 4 point bend How would I know , after marking up the conduit Where to begin placing the tube in the former, seen a lot of benders where ppl have markings on the former already to know where the measured marking made to the steel conduit should be situated to get the correct starting point

The 10mm added either way Final value of 20mm If it were to be 25mm conduit What would the added value be To the 500 mm apart centre to centre as shown Thanks
@JoeRobinsonTraining

Hi, the value would be 12.5mm either way giving a total value of 25mm added on.
@mij.londoner
@mij.londoner 4 жыл бұрын
Joe Robinson Training I’m guessing by this then what ever size the steel conduit is, eg 30mm tube , you would add 15mm either way?? Many thanks

I thought you weren’t allowed 2x90 degree bends in one piece of pipe. One of those bends needs to be an angle box

why not measure the difference between the front of the bender shoe and the back of the bend, and write that on your bender, so that you can simply deduct that from your measurement each time, and get the same result without needing a square or extra piece of conduit.
