@@mariettedorobis6967 You can disagree, but you'd be wrong. Midrange is very important because it would make Caitlin a 3 level scorer and extremely hard to gauard at the next level. Right now if you force her into the paint she is more likely to make a bad pass to a teammate that can get stolen than pull up for a midrange shot. If she works on her midrange that's one less hole in her game and one more problem for the defense to worry about. Plus, as good as she is from 3, she would be even better from midrange. Yes, Clark has had a crazy year, but I still take a healthy Paige over any girl. She is almost as good as Clark offensively & I take her playmaking & defense over Clarks all day everyday. And now it's funny, since Paige knocked out Juju, they're talking about "mismatch" for Clark??? Don't forget, Paige is CARRYING Uconn WITHOUT a bench... Love both girls, but don't make excuses for Clark now, since y'all never believed in Uconn before...

@@mariettedorobis6967 Come on, now it's going too far. CC collects turnovers like they were postage stamps and if his long-medium distance assists are perfect, in the painting they have some problems. To give you an example, against LSU he made at least 3 "assists" to teammates who were triple-teamed in the space of 3 microseconds. Does this sound like "best point guard" behavior to you? Let's talk about it again when in a game she has 10 assists and 0 turnovers. And as far as the offensive phase is concerned, it's a matter of choosing between quality and quantity; I choose the first (Paige), but if someone prefers the second I have no problem accepting it

Caitlin is a beast, when it comes to scoring, can't stop her! Give her, her 40-45 points, and limit her teammates. That's the only chance anyone might have on beating Iowa. Paige have a all around better game. The better defense, wins this game.

Wonderful summary! The upcoming games will draw a lot of new viewers to women's collegiate basketball and they will be very impressed by the quality of play. Playing the game 'under the rim' is a treat to watch. Speaking of watching, even though UCONN's team is lacking in depth and plays with a center and 4 guards on the floor for 40 minutes their defense is so disruptive they negate those apparent drawbacks. Their opponents are made very aware of the pressure UCONN will put on them and when the game starts they are in awe of what is going on. Their switching defense is fine tuned and we need to not look any further than the USC game and see how difficult it was for Ju Ju to do her thing. Not only will the Iowa/UCONN game be something special to watch because of Caitlin Clark and Paige Bueckers but the tactics employed in the game by both coaches will contain an element of intrigue which will turn this into a drama whereby every moment in the game will have our undivided attention. Lastly, it is very important to note UCONN's bench strength is, although unnoticed by the casual fan, has slowly been able to incorporate two other players to join the starting five and if Iowa tries to run UCONN off the floor those two players will play a significant role in determining the final outcome.

Sorry Stephen A and Shannon, but I doubt Paige is going to be on Caitlin the entire game. Nika Muhl will be assigned to defend against Caitlin. Unless she gets into foul trouble, Nika will be on her all night. UConn's team defense is way underrated. They stunt and fill gaps very well, and they don't play back. Caitlin is going to have people in her face all night, she will get hers, but it won't be a 40. Team play trumps a single player. UConn for the win.

Geno a coach with 11 National Championships said Paige is the best player in the U.S. You don't have to believe that (he said) just compare the stats between the two. Just one stat stands out to me and that's that CC has to take 2 or 3 attempts to make a 3 than Paige does. Remember, UCONN has 7 players and that's it. I was shocked that Q - a Freshman started. And, because we have 6 injured players sitting on the bench Paige, Aailya and KK (also a Freshman) and Ashlynn Shade (a Freshman) have to play almost 40 minutes. BUT. The 5 starters are tougher than any other because they've had to play a whole season almost by themselves and look, just look at their regular season record. The adversity has made them so strong. And, you could see it right after they won! The relief! The relief of knowing they can take it all now. I'm a CT resident and have lived here in Husky Land all my life.

Ok Caitlin Clark is an incredible player, an elite scorer but she really didn’t get much of a chance to develop the rest of her game, she had to score high in many games just to keep her team winning. Paige Bueckers made sure she developed all sides of her game. She played post, power forward, point guard, and when needed she stepped up and defended against some of the best the other teams could throw at her, maybe it was out of necessity but she can do a lot more than just score. With all that she consistently came up and scored when her team needed her in the big moments.
