As the U.S. Open champion, Novak Djokovic is entitled to fire tennis balls at Stephen Colbert.

Then, he chose international sponsors that were unknown to Americans. OTOH, Federer has been on his best behavior and is sponsored by Nike, Rolex, etc. These are known brands in America.

I am Federer fan and am still unable to understand why the crowd acted like that in the final. As for Nole his achievements speak volumes. He is now the first player ever with 16,000 ATP points and his slam count now looks like this (just see the quality of opponents): 2011 Wimbledon Rafael Nadal 2011 US Open Rafael Nadal 2012 Aus Open Rafael Nadal 2014 Wimbledon Roger Federer 2015 Wimbledon Roger Federer 2015 US Open Roger Federer 2011 Australian Open Andy Murray 2013 Australian Open Andy Murray 2015 Australian Open Andy Murray 2008 Australian Open Jo-Wilfried Tsonga
@MrKpopSucks8 жыл бұрын
+Amrit Swain Wow! 3 each from the top 3 players apart from himself! But I really never expected Roger to lose 3 straight GS finals against Novak. Very impressive, Mr Djokovic!
@samrit123in8 жыл бұрын
+MrKpopSucks No doubt Fed is playing great tennis now, but to be honest, he is past his prime form. He has won only one slam in the last 23 slam events (nearly six years). Roger is still going to the finals because of rankings. 1 and 2 can never meet before a final. The young ones (Kyrgios, Dimitrov) aren't interested in tennis. They are busy building their playboy status. And Murray is a hit or miss any day. Though i wish to see Fed lifting just one more. #BEL18VE
@sasicmirko8 жыл бұрын
+Amrit Swain A very fair comment of you.And taking into account the rivals he has won Grand slams against speaks volume for Novak's greatness. As a Novak fan I still think that the crowd was rather cheering for Federer to win 18th GS than it was a hatred against Novak. Any opponent would very likely face that not only Novak.
@MrKpopSucks8 жыл бұрын
Amrit Swain I agree with you regarding the young ones and Murray. I fear for the future of male tennis when Novak and Roger retire. It's ridiculous that only Roger, who's 34 years old, can compete with Novak at the highest level. Sure, Roger has proven that age is just a number, but still... It's scary that no one else can compete with Novak. Like you said Murray is a hit and a miss. Nadal, as much as I hate to say it, he's pretty much done, unless he does a 2013 again. Wawrinka, can only produce flashes of brilliance once in a while. And for the young guns, look at Dimitrov, so overhyped as the Baby Fed when in fact he actually hasn't achieved anything significant. I still have hope for Nishikori though...
@samrit123in8 жыл бұрын
+Mirko Sasic I agree that Fed gets home advantage everywhere in the world. Let me tell you i am a HUGE Fed fan but shouting and booing when a player (Djokovic) serves is uncivilized in my opinion.

Novak still holds on to his grassroots ... the slapstick jokes, the endearing laugh, the smile, the consideration for others around him, the fans, the audience. Great success story - started off in a country that is not known for being out there, but for the desire of its people to work hard and put it on the world map. Ivanavic did the same too. Hard work paid off. Perhaps, this agitates certain audiences (?). On ya Nole!!!
