Moon dust is also extremely sharp due to there being no source of anything (Wind, water,...) to erode it to something smooth. This eventually became an issue because the dust was cutting through small layers of the space suits. It eventually got so bad they the astronauts had to wear their suits inside the lunar lander in fear of the Moon dust getting in their eyes. So yeah, very hot/cold, sharp, tiny rocks. Oh yeah... and they're everywhere.

Even if you walk on the moon after the ground has cooled down to comfortable temperatures, I still wonder how the sand would mess up your feet. With no wind and water, every rock that breaks keeps its sharp edges and they don't get rounded down by being scraped against each other. Not completely certain, but I believe moon dust is a lot like ground glass.
@SweGunner71
@SweGunner71 4 жыл бұрын
Also, would the moon dirt cool off enough during night? Even if temperatures drop to negative a lot, the vaccuum of space would not let the dirt cool off very efficiently, no? But the sunlight would heat the sand quickly enough. So how does that work?
@generalgrevious815

@@SgtSupaman quicksilver doesn't move that fast.
@SgtSupaman
@SgtSupaman 2 жыл бұрын
@@nyetloki , it's not about the speed; it's the acceleration. Quicksilver taking off is definitely more G's than a human body can handle. He goes from standing still to moving faster than bullets almost instantly. 0 meters per second to almost 400 meters per second in less than half a second can result in over 100 G's (the max a human could survive is about 9).
@nyetloki
@nyetloki 2 жыл бұрын
@@SgtSupaman 0 to 400 ms in 0.5s is 81 gs. The human body can survive transversal (front/back) gs of up to 45 assuming the neck is protected. And differences between short and sustained gs. But quicksilver isn't going faster than mach 1 (no Sonic boom), he accelerates in a way to protect people from the extreme g forces (he takes precautions in both movies) and/or his mutant power actually provides like an aura of protection. Not as much as the flash or sometimes Superman but still. Note that he doesn't get hurt from colliding with things at his super human speeds or Sonic booms when going beyond Mach 1 in any comic or movie.
@SgtSupaman
@SgtSupaman 2 жыл бұрын
@@nyetloki , you're seriously trying to use the lack of sonic boom in a movie to prove something... We see him go from standing still to moving so fast that bullets are nearly standing still in comparison. This is WAY faster than 400 mps. I was intentionally underestimating and it still comes out to be not survivable. The lack of a sonic boom is not proof that the movie's physics are good, but an indication that they're actually worse. I also said "LESS than half a second". Yes, 0-400 in .5 is 82 Gs, but 0-400 in .4 is 102 Gs. However, even with the numbers you provided, you are confirming it isn't survivable (note how your 81 Gs is nearly twice your proposed survivable 45). His mutant power providing protection could absolutely be the case, but it has nothing to do with what I'm saying. In regards to comics, powers don't need to be analyzed based on real physics. They work because they work. My original reply was just pointing out that praising the physics of the movie is meaningless when there is something wrong with everything that is right.

When any superhero catches someone they should do it in a way that extends the fall and decelerates at a rate that's safe for the human body. If they catch you low to the ground and there isn't enough room to decelerate downward they could transfer motion from vertical to lateral, assuming there was enough room to do that. Take Superman. If you're falling at break neck speeds and he caught you in his arms the impact would be no different than you hitting two concrete poles.

Question: Deku (My Hero Academia) has been shown to flick his finger with a force enough to break boulders, but the impact breaks his finger. Since he is able to generate that force, would his finger not break merely by 'powering up' the flick, as he is asserting those massive forces against his finger and thumb? His finger can handle those forces but snap as they come into contact with rock (which must be more brittle than his finger or thumb)

Every time I hear you talk about nothing going faster then the speed of light. All I can think of is how extremely limited our understanding of the universe truly is all around. It reminds me of just thinking only within a box and if everyone only did that we'd go nowhere. I truly think our understanding is that limited so far there has to be another way of traveling around the rules.

When you mentioned being barefoot on the moon, all I could think of was the episode of Doctor Who titled "Smith & Jones". Then, when you mentioned accelerating the earth with a rocket, I started thinking of the show Frisky Dingo. By the time I could start typing this comment, the thought of Zim and Dib having a space battle with Mars and Mercury came up.

Stabilizing bullets isn’t about wind and air resistance. The shape of the bullet is about the fluid it goes through. Spinning a conical bullet is for ballistic stability as the bullet’s inconsistencies are acted upon by gravity. For example a spherical bullet generates more wind resistance but needs less stabilization.

Hey, Kylie! My brother and I have been followers of your channel for several years now and the other day we started thinking “How much power and how do you get that power to get a helicarrier flying?” We thought of nuclear reactors like modern plane carriers do, but we thought it’d be best to leave the investigation to the master

Looking forward to the next one! Looks like its going to be like how in tennis you don’t catch the ball by holding the racket still. You need to move with the ball and decelerate slowly as you connect with the ball. Otherwise the ball bounces off or Lois Lane explodes in Superman’s arms.

FINALLY! You've just described my sense of direction. North? South? What are these things? And... which is my left and which is my right? Once I got that last one sorted I moved to Lake Havasu City, Az. The lake can be seen from almost anywhere in town. Now that I can always find the lake, I can find what is roughly West. At last, I've found direction in my life. ;) . Oh, yeah, we're also home of the London Bridge. Yeah, the one from the song. It's not falling down anymore. [Not really. This is the one that replaced it in 1831.] . I'm curious if you've ever considered doing a show on this bridge and the science that created it and the Old London Bridge, before it. Of course, you may want to wait to visit until it's no longer 120°F (49°C). . Thanks for making geeks, nerds, dweebs, and dorks look cool. It almost makes all those swirlies in high school worth it.

Kyle, the episode made me think of the Cartoon network show Frisky Dingo, the supervillain Killface makes a massive propulsion system to push earth out of orbit of the sun. They move earth a mere 3 feet farther from the sun supposedly accidentally curing global warming 😂

I'm surprised nobody mentioned the episode of Invader Zim where they discover that the "face"on mars (remember that?) is actually a controller for an ancient rocket system that turns mars into a space craft. They also found the "butt" on Neptune (why not Uranus??) which also turned that planet into a giant spaceship. Absolutely hilarious. You gotta check it out.

Rather than turning the earth on its axis for stabilization (because as you said that wouldn't work; no air resistance), what if we did it to put the rocket on the axis assuming a sufficiently powerful rocket then you would not need to slow the Earth's rotation. Could you slowly rotate the Earth's axiss to take advantage of the Earth's current velocity? Let's say we turn Earth's axis to line up with our orbit (plus out a little bit to account for our planned trajectory), and put the future tech rocket on the trailing end of Earth's rotational axis. Would it be feasible to just increase our orbit to put us in the Goldilock zone of our new red giant solar system configuration? I know I will not be a super nerd but I hope I end up on footnotes. Love the show been watching since OG show on nerdist. I love you Kyle, and I hope you never stop doing you! Hashtag, I shave my head. Hashtag, mutton chops for life. Hashtag, this is not how hashtags work. Hashtag, I know I am just weird. Hashtag, I love your show!

I'm pretty sure the axis correction meant that you could change the axis of rotation such that the Earth could continue spinning but the rocket side would always point away from the sun.

I've *ALWAYS* had a gripe with how superheroes save someone when falling. they basically intercept them in a way that looks no different than smacking the ground head‐on at full speed versus more of a swooping motion to slow them down first. akin to the practice of catching an egg, if you will...
