Hello friends!
Is it just me or are you guys ready for autumn too? I've definitely stepped into an autumn state of mind recently. For me, autumn reading/movie watching/decor shopping/list planning all happens in August. 2 months is not enough for me to enjoy cozy/spooky season 🍂 I hope you enjoy this video we filmed while staying at an off grid cabin in the woods. The temperature was cool and the afternoons were full with abundant rain storms. It was the perfect autumn day (summer version) 😊
p.s. This is another video that I filmed all in one day instead of filming the 3-5 days it usually takes me to film a more (full? is that right word?) video. You guys really seemed to enjoy the last one I filmed all in one day so I thought I would try it again. I hope you enjoy this as much as we did filming it. And I hope it gives you all the cozy fall vibes that the end of summer can offer 🍁

Desi, you should try embracing Lughnasadh , it’s a Gaelic holiday celebrated on august 1st which kicks off the harvest season and the aesthetic of the holiday season is very summer meets fall so you don’t have to feel bad about straddling the line between being in a fall mood or summer mood !

i like to embrace what i call “soft summer” when i miss autumn - it’s evening beach swims / reading while during warm thunderstorms / playing slow, acoustic songs that feel like the beach’s sand / wearing shorts but also a sweater / getting iced chai lattes / playing my vinyls / eating more soup !! helps with the desire for autumn by slowly releasing me into it :)

It's been constant wind and rain throughout July on the South Coast of England where I live and it's been pure bliss for me. I've been pretending it's autumn all month, having the time of my life reading all the dark and spooky books, lighting scented candles and baking to my hearts content.

I am crazy about our New England autumn days!! I could not possibly be more opposed to you on the seasonal spectrum.😂 I live for Spring. In March I can barely make it through. Every day of Summer is a meditation in gratitude. I plant, swim, dance and drum on the beach. I wear awesome outfits, exercise, eat fruits and veg right out of the ground, and drink gallons of cool water. I lose weight w/o trying and my body snaps back to firmness and flexibility. My skin gets browner and even toned. I drink in every minute /every hour. Even heat waves are born with acceptance. As Summer begins to die, a pall of sadness creeps in and I brace myself for Fall (it has its pretty moments - perhaps to stave off full blown depression too early in the process.) I’ll watch you then, Darling Desi, to find the charm of Autumn again. But until that time - you can have your pumpkin spice lattes! I’m still drinking my Margarita!

In Sweden we call that candy "lösgodis" which means "loose candy", as in, candy that is not contained in its own package but instead each type of candy is in a container and you pic the ones you want and mix them in your own little paper bag. Pretty much all grocery stores have a wall filled with "lösgodis" containers. We even have stores that only sell candy, hundreds upon hundreds of different kinds of candies, some have close to 1000 different types of "lösgodis" for you to choose from. Swedes are very serious about our candy :P Happy you like them, hope you'll get to try some more!

'As soon as it starts to rain and it gets cold, my mood is so improved.' Yes! that is 100% how I feel. Summer to me is an oppressive heat filled sauna that I cannot escape from. I don't know why but I get dizzy, nauseous, migraines, fatigue starting at the beginning and then this constant pressure in my head throughout. I have already bought my autumn candles, soaps, cleaners, pumpkin latte mix because i despise the heat here and I refuse to be oppressed by it. I crank up the AC, watch Autumn movies and drink Pumpkin Spice lattes all day long! My Darling Desi, I have been subscribed to your channel for over a year, and to my shame I haven’t watched a full video of yours during that time(to my SHAME)! As a Swedish person I can confirm that we have the best candy! A tip is to mix the salty candy with the sour, make a little hamburger with the small skulls for example and put it in your mouth - it’s really good 😻

Great video! I love the mood. Read the Night Whisperer by Ornella Grey! It's just the sort of story you like. It's a spooky regency tale with lots of twists and atmosphere. It's perfect fall reading.
