Mind your goolies on the pockets. Priceless. Those were the days when comedy was comedy. My Daughter when she was little loved watching Steptoe and Son on our videos that we had of the series. She found them funny as well. I own the complete collection on dvd. It's one of my favourite comedies ever. I remember it used to be on after the brilliant Dick emery show. I got my love for comedy and music from my parents.

One of the best episodes. Harold's aspirations are literally too big for his surroundings, but in the end, his dad lets him have these illusions because he realizes on some level they're important to him.

I’m so glad I grew up with these guys and Alf Garnett, Love Thy Neighbour and It Ain’t Half Hot Mum I’m late 50,s but I wouldn’t have missed it for the world.Great comedy the likes of which will never be seen again. RIP British comedy😢

@@marksinclair846 Although this was from the second series produced in colour, no colour versions survive. Out of this series only 2 episodes survive in colour, the other 6 are in black and white. So, it has been colourised. You can tell, actually, because the colours are wrong. Most obviously on the snooker table

These copies were originally made for Galton and Simpson the creators and writers. They got a BBC engineer to run off black and white copies for their own personal use. And thankfully they did this, otherwise we would have lost so many episodes.

@@johnseven3695 I have a feeling they knew what the BBC would so with their show. They saw it with Hancock's Half Hour, with many editions lost. So when Steptoe started, I feel Galton and Simpson came up with a plan to get copies of the show. Now, technically it was illegal, as the BBC owned the rights to the show, not Galton and Simpson, but boy they got away with it.

Well i suppose "technically" it is brown in "Steptoe" as he was going grey (my uncle had very dark hair almost black but in his 40s it lightened up to "brown") but if you look at older films his hair does appear "black" or at least very dark brown. It's the canned laughter which brainwashes you into thinking its funny. Some of the gags are funny but the canned laughter morons seem to put canned laughter after almost every comment.
