Mark Bell and Silent Mike sit down with Jesse Norris, all time record total holder (2015 @ 198), to try and figure out what his secret is. It turns out that Jesse has simply been lifting heavy ass weights for a long time, and puts in hard work. He wants to prove that what he does can be achieved naturally. Hear Jesse's full story here!
Raw nationals video credits to Candito Training HQ (733 squat) and Alexander Kang (bench press and deadlift footage)

I really don't care if they are on it or not. If I took them for 10 years, he'd still be stronger than me. Why do you need to worry whether he's on it or not. Who gives a Fuck?!

On gear or not, he has to be the strongest guy out there. Guys on gear at 275 and up aren't hitting his numbers. Steroids don't make you super human. If you're weak without gear, you'll be weak on gear.

tbh, it could have been done naturally, assuming he was still in the 90kg class, a 270 is deadlift is 3 times bodyweight within 2 years of training - not impossible imo, I'm 17, been lifting lower body for about 7-8 months and can pull 180kg at 68 kg - if you get into strength from the start, you will obviously hit big numbers much earlier - if you look at Olympic weightlifting a lot of the lifters are young asf, I think some girl set a wr at 15

LegendaryCrumpet your an idiot, I have a buddy with insane genes and he weighs about 160 and is already squating 495 and deadlifting 535. he stays lean no matter what he eats and can put on mass like no other, oh and he used to lift in hs for football but fell off for awhile, these lifts are after 2 months btw... So untill you meet a freak you will only gauge off ur own shitty genetics.

If i have to be honest. I don't really care about who's natty or not. My take on it is that if you wanna be the best you do what it takes. Then it's up to other people to be naive and gullible. It dosen't take away the hard work and you can still learn something from these guys. But don't go to a tested federation thinking people are not on PEDs. You can compare an untested federation to the olympics. The olympics is tested and still has more PEDs than any untested federation out there. Maybe a bad example, but you catch my drift.

This was a great video, Jesse is a beast. About half way through Jesse says "I'm not going to sit here and say I'm natural." Whatever he does take at the end of the day he put in the work and made it happen. Hard work, period. You say you want to show people you can achieve this goal drug free. My question is what do you say to the guys that only use supplements from their local GNC, vitamin shoppe, etc.? Can they achieve the same goals with hard work over time?

The fact that Jesse practically admits to using gear (which Is fine) and the fact that all other usapl lifters (ie layne) are so welcoming kind of shows you that the other usapl lifters don't care that much about gear use in tested feds. In other words, they are probably willing to use it too.
@CanditoTrainingHQ
@CanditoTrainingHQ 8 жыл бұрын
+stewie griffin That is a pretty accusatory conclusion. Even if Jesse was using, Layne probably is welcoming because he doesn't want to believe someone is willing to cheat to beat him. Also Layne is forced to recognize he was in fact beat so it's either show love or accuse, the latter which comes at a great cost of causing a shitstorm. Let's, theoretically speaking, imagine we know 100% Layne is drug free and Jesse is using. From Layne's perceptive as someone who trains his ass off, follows the rules, yet gets dominated it feels so defeating he wouldn't want it to be true. As a competitor the last thing you want to admit is you were cheated yet can do nothing to stop it. It's like being told genetics are more important than all other factors, it's something athletes convince themselves isn't the case because it gives no hope. I'm saying this as someone who knows this struggle lol. I just don't judge, let the viewers make their mind.

+CanditoTrainingHQ Layne and Jesse are probably the most well known fake natties in powerlifting, they're far beyond your level of plausible denial.
@BlackFlagFamily
@BlackFlagFamily 8 жыл бұрын
+CanditoTrainingHQ I thought the exact same thing when I first saw Layne's video response to finishing 2nd, and HAD Layne taken the "he's using" route, it would have made him look like he couldn't handle someone being better than him and was simply attacking Jesse because he had won ( to the layman anyway). 90% of career lifters can tell who is and isn't whether they acknowledge it or not, and they give their respect accordingly. I don't find it suspect at all when other lifters aren't publicly crying "foul"... but nonetheless, I'm sure it stings like hell.
@CanditoTrainingHQ
@CanditoTrainingHQ 8 жыл бұрын
+Agateophobia As a fan that's fine. At no point am I rebuking viewers for believing someone isn't natty, that's their opinion and often a logical one. But when you are involved in this industry as well as compete it's a little different as it isn't always your role to have an opinion. It's wise to only speak on what you have evidence for when they are your peers. So to me it is wrong to say Layne should outright reject Jesse due to suspicions, that's all I'm saying. As I said, the viewers can decide.
