One of the most touching scenes ever. Steve Carrell is an amazing actor. This is a beautiful song.

The movie came out the same year as the iphone. It's not like you're talking 4 decades ago, it was 2007. Christ.

Just enjoyed watching this beautiful scene on a Saturday night in a suburb of Las Vegas. So touching, so well performed. One of my favorite movie scenes. Wife and I just cried and hugged after watching. Be kind to each other ❤️

Me too! It actually reminds me of my childhood a little bit. There was always music, piano, someone playing guitar, people singing. I probably sing more than I talk most days (when I’m home). You’re not anywhere near Seattle are you?

I liked this movie. Steve did a good job throughout. Yes, I believe some families do stuff like this. Anyway this scene was perfect. Oh and daughter scene "screaming "murderer of love" is very dramatic and hilarious too.

I don't know if this is an american thing but I never knew anyone whose family do a variety show when they get together. That would explain why america is such a show business focused country.
@Marialla.2 жыл бұрын
Other way around. If any families actually do variety shows, it would be because we are a society built by show business, and our mutual exposure to media has shaped us. Show business in america was not shaped by our passion for doing home variety shows. FWIW, I don't know any families that do this kind of variety show, but idk maybe some do. I do know my church one time did a sort of "open mic" variety show night, to try to get people to come out of their shells and have fun together. But it was only attempted once, because it did not go over well.
