As a Rangers fan for 40 years, I'll forever be grateful to Gerrard and his staff for giving us 55 and stopping the 10. We are healthy because of him and we have to remember where we were before he came here. He did 10 years work in 3 and a half years. Thanks Stevie.

was fuming when he left Rangers , but now the dust has settled , i honestly think its best all round , he stopped 10 in a row , done very well in europe , better than expected , but still only won 1 trophy in 9 or 10 i think , so i’ll gladly take the £3m compensation , and Gio as our manager . I understand Gerrards loyalty dont lie with Rangers , and i’m ok with that , and Villa fans , don’t think for one SECOND he will have any loyalty to your club either , his loyalties lie at Anfield . For once I see a manager not just saying things he wants the press to hear , he is actually speaking with some thought I actually believe he will lift villa higher and I think he will leave us in a good place , he has a way about him that he won't take nonsense from players , I actually think he could be a modern day Fergie , have the power at a club rather than the players , I think it will be a different approach to Fergie but he does have a sense of discipline about him. I'm looking forward to having him as villa manager in the near future , and its good to see a manager who isn't cynical

There is an outside chance... certainly you can see that they are improving; where the likes of Leicester look less convincing atm. But then, Arsenal and Spurs look like they are getting better as well; but they have bigger budgets and certainly at Spurs, a better manager. Then there is the likes of West Ham... He will have done well if gets Villa to top half and putting a good run in the cups; particularly the league cup where they could do well (with most of the bigger clubs not prioritising it). That would be good; then performing well in the Europa Conference, maybe getting into the europa through a cup qualification... but even then; this Villa squad isn't going to win that. Expectations should be realistic.

Stevie has always been dedicated and fierce in his commitment. So I definitely think you're right. He said himself that he thinks he can fairly say that he achieved what he was asked to achieve at Rangers. It isn't as if he's taken over and jumped ship as soon as Villa called. He'll do the same at Villa. If in 3 or 4 years he leaves for another club after delivering on the ambitions he laid out then I think most Villa fans would understand that. If he jumps ship in 6 months then the charge of using Villa as a stepping stone can be fairly levelled at him. But I don't think he'll do that for one second. As for the Liverpool job. That's his dream obviously. Doesn't take a genius to work that out. But as of now it's a dream. He's hardly being lined up as a Klopp replacement. Brendan just cant get rid of Stevie lmao. First Brendan essentially forces Stevie out of Liverpool by saying his game time needs to be ’managed’. Then Brendan leaves for Celtic, Stevie beats him at Rangers. Now Stevie comes to Villa and beats Brendan’s Leicester. Brilliant

The fact that he won the title in his first ever managerial job is fantastic and shows that he's a good manager. He will take Villa up the table.

Stevie G will always be remembered for both putting Rangers back to top club in Scotland and good runs in Europe. He’s served the club well and the club backed him. Best wishes at Villa, another top club and clearly he’s making a good impact.

For such a legend of the game he is still very very humble. I think he is going to be a TOP manager.

A lot of Rangers fans forgetting the condition their club was in when he took over. They could only dream of Winning a title and having great European runs. Gerrard has set them up very nicely for the future, and left them in a pole position for a Champions League spot (which the SPFL winners have due his success).

As a united fan stevy terrifies me because he will most likely take over Liverpool after klopp and unlike ole it seems he is a very good manager especially when it comes to man management so I'm truely scared of him because I believe he'll be the first legendary player manager to really be successful in the prem

As someone who started supporting Liverpool in 2000, seeing my two biggest heroes in a non-playing environment is bittersweet. Everyone knew and acknowledged Stevie's brilliance, but Carra was a top quality defender. Needs more respect.

Thank you for service Stevie G. We're hurting because you brought us promise and some fight we hadn't seen in a while and from the outside it looks like you've jumped ship at the first sign on trouble. More has come out now and we understand your family comes first, but as you will know from being here we are a family. All the best with the rest of your management career sir.

What trouble? His Rangers were 4 points ahead of Celtic and having a decent run in Europe all with injuries to Jack and Kent. He just saw an opportunity to move to a big club in the premier league and took it.
