LOL, I am 49 years old and remember watching these games and have wondered that many times- the quality is terrible.

Lots of these archives were just recorded on low quality VHS, and then rendered with bad quality converters on a computer, then uploaded in a terrible quality in early youtube which was in 360p. The real archives from the TV stations are looking pretty good if the team had enough budget to get it filmed with quality cameras and skilled technicians.

As a Rangers fan, that was a sweet as it got in those days! I remember Lindros's first game as a Ranger against NJ - that was the night I became a fan of his, when, late in the game, he and Stevens were driving near the boards and Lindros nailed him into the boards with a hard hit! His first bit of payback for that cheap hit that effectively ended his career in Philly.
