It amazes and astonishes me that I only discovered Steve Perry in Spring 2022. I was 68. I was watching the making of “ We are Thé World “ - aid for Africa. I knew every singer there; I grew up in the Sixties and my sister and I were huge soul music/ Motown fans. There was only one singer I didn’t know - not the faintest idea who he was. So I went down the list and Steve Perry was the onIy name I didn’t know. He looked remotely familiar. Naturally, I looked him up. I think I had heard of “ Journey“. I looked at all the songs and the only song that I could say I knew was “ O Sherrie “. I think I might have heard “ Don’t Stop Believin “. I read where he was a great fan of Sam Cooke and “ Cupid “ - I thought - never heard of Sam Cooke or “ Cupid “. Then I played it and said “ Oh, that Cupid!! “ Knew every Sam Cooke song by heart, lol How did I miss Steve Perry, whom I consider one of the greatest singers in the world?? I think it was because had my first child in 1978. I was a pianist, still studying. So all my free time was practicing for exams. My seven younger siblings usually kept me in the loop of newer bands, but all they played were bands like The Police, Abba, Heart, Cindy Lauper and many others. But not Journey. So I came along late, but what joy has been brought into my life. Such a talented, incredible singer. As a musician, I can appreciate everything about his voice - a rare countertenor and Altino. His vocal range is astounding. And the emotion with which he sings is difficult to put into words. So a new, old fan you could say. 69 with a husband who is Steve’s age.

This is a beautiful song I would love to hear more insides of this album. This whole album was an absolute masterpiece and I just love it so much.

No More Cryin' sounds like Steve was hurt by the tumultuous times and egos in Journey. This song and "Anyway." I loved Journey 45 years ago, but it was Steve Perry's voice and songwriting that got me through some tough times. I hope someday Steve, Neal and Jonathan can reconcile, but when you are deeply hurt it's almost impossible to go back.

Geez, he's more active at 70 than I am at almost 50. Love his energy. And voice, of course . . . but that energy just exudes from him. I'm willing to bet you can't be around him without feeling it.

I am married to my wonderful husband of almost 23 years now and we have 2 beutiful sons Nathan and Nicholas who will be 21 and 24 years old this month and next. My so Nicholas writes songs and is has some amazing lyrics he would love for you to see. I know that is probably not going to be possible, but this kid could write songs in his sleep.
