2007-2013 Escalade Headlight Bulb Replacement - GM should have planned better for this !!!

Replacement of the Daytime Running light bulb on a 2008 Cadillac Escalade. The Driver Side is the difficult one as the water bottle is in the way...GM didn't make this as easy as it should have been for sure. Passenger side is easy as the air filter housing just needs to be removed.

Thanks and glad the video helped some 👍. Yep, this is about the worst design I’ve ever seen for getting access to changing the bulbs on a vehicle ! At least they used long life bulbs lol. Thanks again and all the best ! Steve

Yep, seems they really didn’t think the whole, one day needing to change a bulb out, thing very well for sure, lol. The headlight designer must have previously worked at BMW or Mercedes or something 🤣. All the best ! Steve

Lol, yep it would sure get frustrating if they had to be changed out frequently for sure. Fortunately they seem to last quite a few years, but still makes no sense why the out things in the way that have to be removed just to change a light bulb.

I'm having a hard time finding which bulbs go where? I need all the bulbs replaced in my headlights

Yep, it’s difficult to tell on the driver’s side for sure with all of the extra stuff in the way that needs to be removed, but the passenger side one is easier to get to for seeing where each bulb goes if I remember correctly. Since the headlight assemblies are the same on the bulb locations, it might be easier to see where they each are on that one first.

I can't believe how much bs you have to go through to change a bulb. My grand cherokee is a pain also, but I've taken the front bumper off so many times i can remove and reinstall everything in a half hour. Dang Cadillac is a PITA.

Hey man ! Yep, seems crazy that they would have designed it so the driver’s side one is so tough to access. At least they used Long Life Sylvania’s in it lol !

👍. For sure make a video if it can be done any easier without damaging anything. Mine only had a couple of inches between the bulbs and the components attached to the back side of the mounting area.

The fact that you have to go through all this to change out a headlight bulb is fucking ridiculous...they do this shit so people who aren't the least bit capable will have to take it in to replace the bulbs...can you imagine what the bill would be to have all the bulbs changed?...I miss the good ol days when you could take your car to the parts store, take out the old bulb and pop in the new one right there in the parking lot...

Yep, seems insane to have to take all of that off just to get to a bulb…especially considering that there is a ton of open space in the engine bay so there was no need to cram everything all together in the corner like that. I think it’s partly that they don’t care how hard things are to repair…just how easy it is to assemble them at the factory.
