It's funny you say that. I clicked on this and grabbed my small cooler of beer to sit outside with my headphones to listen to this. Literally, minutes into it, I was asking myself why I'm enjoying this MUCH more than I usually do, and it had more to do with the fact that Florentine was on it, because it got to the point where - a few minutes later that - I finally figured it out. Opster was NOT a part of it, and initially, I casually thought I was clicking on an O&A clip. You are SOOOOO right. He sucked, and just the fact that he podcasts for 110 FB and even less YT viewers today (2024) is all you need to see.

The real racism isn't the word. The real racism is one group saying to another group that they can't say a word that they throw around like a valley girl using the word "like". Either everybody can use the word, or nobody can use the word. Saying one group can't use the word is racist and hypocritical. I have no problem us stop using the word. It will take some time to phase it out. But, we have top be careful: we don't want to end up with a continuously slippery slope of controlling language.

O&A and Lil' Jimmy Norton were rallying against this P.C. bullshit years before it really gained traction. I remember listening to these shows years ago and thinking it was only a matter of time before things got back to normal....I'm still waiting lol. I can only imagine the conversations that have occurred between “then” (when this show occurred) and now - between Jonathan Martin and mother... she literally ended his career, without a doubt, by bringing this to the forefront. He’s very lucky that his parents are both Harvard educated lawyers but regardless of lost income, etc... I feel bad for him. Not just for the loss of income but for the loss of masculinity that this exposed.

These videos with Sam subbing for Opie are so much better, especially compared to when Ant is out. Just more relaxed, there aren't the same douche chill moments, even when liberal Jimmy shows up. After the recent fight with Opie/Jim and the truth about him not trying to help Ant and realizing that he had no place at the show anymore etc, it's painfully obvious the third wheel was able to push Ant out the door, and now realizing he is the weaker link wants to push Jim out as well.

American Goy Yes I think you are correct. Opie destroyed O&A by ALLOWING Ant to be fired (I believe Opie not only didn't argue with management about their decision to let him go, I'll bet Opie gleefully welcomed the opportunity). Then Opie destroyed O&J by being a talentless torpid sloth by having absolutely no sense of humor and by not bringing anything to the show in terms of content. Opie has no political views, he has no hobbies, he rarely talks about his personal relationships, he knows nothing about sports, he doesn't seem to have seen many movies, so he has NOTHING to bring to the show that he can talk about. Opie's abysmal contribution combined with his bizarre attitude toward Jimmy's characters, is what ruined O&J. The joke is Opie though because he's recognized by all as a horrendous radio host, who is mentally ill, extremely ignorant, a coat tail rider, and a hack.

Florentine is someone that, to me, looks shockingly nothing like what he sounds like. His voice in no way matches his face. To me he should look like detective Friday on Dragnet (or Gannon? The one that isn't Col. Potter). In reality he looks like he should have a goofy Jim Bruer voice. Duckman's partner (I forget his name) would also be a better match, although he is clearly meant to be parody/inspirred by/etc the guy on Dragnet. Fezzy also got me, I did a legit double-take when I saw a pic and realized it was of Fez. He ought to look like Jimminy Glick, but instead looks more like the neighbor in Office Space or someone from My Name Is Earl.

I love all of them but None of these 3 understand the relationships between Wilson & Kornhieser, and they make their assumptions but that is what bothers me. They make it out like they don’t know each other, even though they don’t know MARC Wilbon’s name (Matt) but I’ve literally sat at the same table and had a pitcher of beer with them after the Daytona 500 when I literally walked off my job (after being invited after casual conversation) to sit with them and Elliot Sadler ( or whatever the fuck his name was that won the race that night when I was working my beachside security job at 21) to talk for that one chance in my life I would have and they seemed like best of friends of me. It’s just aggravating. They don’t understand that the conflict is/was the entire point of the show.
