Tommy Shannon, the bass player, appeared with Johnny Winter at Woodstock back in 1969. Reese Wynans, the keyboard player, played in a group called Second Coming with future Allman Brothers greats, guitarist Dickey Betts and bassist Berry Oakley. He was also involved in the initial jam sessions with what was to become the Allman Brothers, but stepped aside when Gregg Allman took over the keyboard role. Amazing stuff !!!

The keys is a very young Reese Wynans who now plays with Joe Bonamassa. IMHO Joe Bonamassa is a guitarist today who is close in talent to SRV. His style is different, but the music flows thru Joe Bonamassa like it does SRV. May I suggest: I'll Play the Blues For You, Trouble Town, What I've Known For A Very Long Time, Breaking Up Somebody's Home, I Gave Up Everything For You, and Redemption are just a few down inside this very, very deep hole (Joe Bonamassa has 15 Studio Albums to date). Fantastic reaction, TY. RIP SRV.......... THE GOAT!

Betcha can't sit still when that's playing. Gotta give Reese props on this one. He's s just freaking awesome! His fingers just flyin up n down those those keys like a dancing spider. Wow. Stevie is always perfectly amazing no matter what he does. I still get so angry inside that he's not still here with us. Just seems so unfair that he didn't get to live a long full life after achieving sobriety. He so richly deserved that. But people like him don't just fade away into obscurity, his music will touch souls for generations because we SRV lovers will continue to keep it on a loop! Every week I see more younger people listen to requests for Stevie. They've never heard of him before, but now they'll never forget him. Great reactions. Try anything live, no disappointments. Especially Voodoo Child. Because he is one. 🔥🔥🔥 ☮️ to all.

Notice the white guitar SRV is playing here. It was built by Charley Wirz of Charley's Guitar Shop in Dallas as a gift for Stevie Ray. Charley died suddenly in 1985 and Stevie dedicated "Life Without You" to Charley. The live performance of Life Without You at the Capitol Theatre in New Jersey is a must-see.

I think you'd love the Cold Shot music video. It's hilariously clever, depicting a tongue-in-cheek view of Stevie Ray's obsession with guitars and portraying a wife or girlfriend reacting to always having to "play second fiddle" physically and emotionally to his guitars.

Jimmy Vaughan Stevie Ray Vaughan's older brother said Stevie Ray came down to talk to everyone before they were about to play and told them he had a dream he died and he was up looking down at his own funeral and they were alot of people crying, he was killed that night August 27, 1990 at the young age of 35 and exactly 4 years to the day his father passed away. RIP STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN WAS AND WILL ALWAYS BE THE GOAT

Stevies last moments on stage were so appropriate that it was as if God himself said, "I'm sorry Stevie but I need you up here and I have to call you home. But before I do I want you to get to have a special moment with all of your friends and heros." If you don't know the story; Double trouble was playing A HUGE Blues show and a who's who of blues musicians were on stage. And at the end of the night, as many of them as could be shoe horned onto a stage got up and played Sweet Home Chicago and Stevie lead the band. He got on a helicopter to get back to the hotel and get some rest. And that was it. He had been clean and sober for the last couple years of his life, if it was even that long. I will always have a bit of a problem with my maker for taking Stevie away. That one will never sit right with me. I remember where I was, who I was with and what I was doing the moment I found out he was gone. I remember my reaction and the several days of grieving that followed. The words, "We lost him again." came out of my mouth and I dropped whatever was in my hands. If there are other guitarists my age out there, you will know what I meant and to whom I was referring. RIP Bluesman

Smokin' hot. Killer song. Driving down a lone highway early one morning, nobody in front of me...got LOVER BOY cranked up....notice in the rear view, cop car gaining on me with lights flashing...turned the volume down a bit on SRV....Cop stops me, I'm crankin the music down low, Cop walks up. sticks his head in my window and says (with a smile) "Do you know you were speeding?" you guys seemed to really like the piano player Recce Whyman. Ill share a funny story . If my memory serves me right SRV and the trio were staying in a hotel and Reece was playing piano in the lobby. They hug out for a while and listed to him play and when he was done they convinced him to do a show in the area with the band. Clearly he kills it on the keys and they had to have him in the band! I was fortunate to see him play with Joe Bonnamossa (BTW you should probably react to him as well) at red rocks a few times and he is still on his game!
