Stevie Wright, one of the greatest rock singers and frontmen, was a tremendously exciting performer. He had two careers, one as lead singer of The Easybeats and another following that band's demise as a solo performer. He was a big influence on Bon Scott and also on AC/DC's sound.
@OldiesMomma Жыл бұрын
Do you know if stevie wright was the lead singer for the easybeats from the time that they started the band until they broke up in.1969....if he was replaced who took over the sing and why. What happened between Stevie wright and dick diamond. They said that they had hard filling for each other. Do you know if George young also had a form of dementia or Alzheimer's towards the end of his life. Was Malcolm young the only one with the illness. I hope that they are resting in peace together. I feel bad for their families. To lose one is sad, but to but to lose them both only one month a part. I just can only imagine the heart aches. Prayers for them all. 😢😢

He sure did, his original band The Easybeats had the Vandas in it, George Young (brother of Malcolm and Angus AC/DC) and Harry Vanda, check out The Easybeats
@blueycarlton Жыл бұрын
He was a prolific lyricist/songwriter. He and George Young wrote 99% of the Easy's early material. In England a record producer said his writing was not good enough and it sent him on a downward drug spiral from which he never recovered. When the Easys folded he ended up in his early 20's back in Sydney broke, and having to work in a mens wear shop to make a living. He had a come back and a national No.1 hit with Evie parts 1, 2, & 3, a 10 minute monster hit written for him by former Easys Vanda and Young. Stevie would have been the perfect replacement for Bon Scott in ACDC, but his drug problems had taken hold.

We would not have heard of the song evie or any of his solo music.. and that would have been a shame. He just had to much talent to be not heard. When he went to get help for his drugs adction the rehabilitation center left him worst then I if he had just quit . They gave him electronic shock and deep sleep for days. He had to jump out of a window to get away from the doctors at that place. He was left with brain damage after that.. he was also a diabetic and didn't know it. His life story was very sad one.

Stevie was back in rehab when it was released & couldn't promote it or go on tour with it is what george young & co believed why it never took off ..
@OldiesMomma11 ай бұрын
Why didn't they wait until Stevie got out of rehab to promote this album. Or they could have came to the USA to promote it.. No one here knew about his troubles with drugs and it might have saved him. Because his drug dealers wouldn't have been able to get to him. They could have let him apear on American bandstand with Dick Clark,or on the Ed Sullivan show. We had a lot of great shows that could have been a great help to him. And are teen magazine's would have put him on the covers. The teen-age girls would have been able to do the rest.

RIP you awesome singer.
@OldiesMomma9 ай бұрын
I have to agree with you that Stevie wright was a very great 👍 song writer and performer 😂😂 . I think that he was the reason why the Easybeats was so popular it was his songs that George wrote the music to for. There songs were on the top of the music charts in Australia. It was his dancing and arobic jump's and back flips that made them famous. He has cute and sweet. It wasn't George young or Harry Vanda who was getting girls mailed to them. It was Stevie. The group should have been called Stevie wright and the Easybeats. Or more simply the The Stevie wright Band If it wasn't for Stevie there wouldn't be any AC DC or any other groups. He was the band
