I love this song. I just lost my mom a month ago today. She was only 41, just shy of 42. She had been recovering from a heart and lung transplant for the last 18 months. My mom enjoyed reggae, and although she never knew Stick Figure (I didn’t know about him until 2018), I know she’d love his music. When she passed, she was fearless. She wasn’t scared, she wasn’t afraid, she was so at peace and went so gracefully. However, I just found this song very recently. Whenever I hear it, I feel like it’s a conversation between her and I. The first verse is her, second verse is me, and it continues that way throughout the song. I feel like it’s us having a conversation from Earth to Heaven. I miss her so much but this song gives me so much peace and it feels like we’re having a conversation. We’ll meet again one day, and on that day I’m going to show her this song and how it got me through life without having her physically here. How it was a song that I got to speak to her through. Not long ago my brother Fredrik Ljusner passed away, 2019-07-02. He was found by the police in the bathtub at his own apartment overdosed, it was my sister Jessika that was worried about him because he didn't answer his phone, so she called the police. He always had it tough and hard, it all started in school when he was younger, he was socializing with wrong people. All dumb and wrong choices made him drop out of school, he didn't have an education so he couldn't get a job and with no job comes no income. He had ADHD and that made everything so harder for him because if you are in a bad state and don't got alot of money it's gonna get really hard and you will probally don't get alot of help, noone cared for him, he was just another mistake as everyone thought, so he didn't get any help. He got anxiety and depression of it all and it fucked everything up for him. He was a caring person one of the goodest i've ever met, as i said it was hard for him and he could go weeks without eating anything. He got 50 dollars every month for an income, with the money he would spend it on cat food for his cat that he loved, he would go fishing for food for him and his cat. He had a neighboor/friend that was an immigrant next door. He would everyday knock on his door and ask if he wanted any help, my brother learned his friend 4 swedish word everyday. Fredrik also bought his friend some flowers one day not long before he died with the money he didn't have. He was a person that expressed himself through music alot, he always talked through lyrics. He said to his girlfriend that "when i die, i want you to play In The End with linkin park on my funeral" She responded with "So you are gonna die now or what are you talking about?!" He said "No, not before i get 100 years :)". The song describes that he was a person that didn't give up but he tried so hard, he got so far but in the end it didn't matter. Soon it all was about to change when he finally got a job, he was SOOOO glad and so happy i can't describe how happy he was. He worked his ass off for that job, he worked 3 times harder than all the workers there. When he came home one day to me and my parents home i thought he had been working out in the gym because he was so god damn ripped. But he said that he just lifted and transported wood at work, he really gave his all for that work. But of course he lost that job because the company he was working for closed down. He was back at his bad roots again. I remember when we went fishing a month before he died he said to me that "I want your best brother, i care for you and i love you, i don't want you to grow up to be like me". He always looked up to me the only brother he had, i was his inspiration even though i was alot younger than him. He sent me this song Easy runaway before he passed away and when i listen to it it gave me tears... It's alot of things i can write that describes him but i dont think anyone will read it, but if you have read all of this then thank you and care for eachother always talk about your feelings so you don't get drowned in emotions and start loosing it, becuase talking about your problems and feelings helps you and the ones you love. Thank you stick figure for your music :).
