I had this old STIHL FS38 bent shaft strimmer knocking around which had been run over by the customers car, he didn't want it repaired and purchased a new one. Also had a STIHL FS55R Strimmer / Brushcutter which had a badly seized engine and was beyond repair. Difference in power between the two units is FS38 (0.9 HP) and FS55 (1 HP) I was only doing this for my own use so don't get alarmed at me putting a smaller engine on.
I have to say that all the FS55 machines I've repaired and used over the years, this engine doesn't seem at all different power wise. I've actually used this machine at home for roughly 4yrs and not a single issue.
