Stihl RM 655 RS Review
Stihl asked me if I would like to review the RM 655 RS, the mower is gifted to me, I would like to state, that I am not paid or sponsored by Stihl.
I've enjoyed using the mower and the review is my honest opinion, in general I found it to be a very good mower. for more details on the mower.

I bought one of these and like the engine as seems to cope well , the handlebars tend to come loose but easily nipped up with an Allen key .... if you lessen your grip the cutter engage snaps off which I find abrupt sometimes..... does leave a nice finish but as you say the height could be a bit better as 2 cuts a bit high ... I’d say the Honda HRD has a better height setting .. not tried any more recently... as for wet grass I’ve never known any mower cut well without blocking up and I try to avoid it now even though it can throw the diary 📔 out of sync 😀...... great video as usual 👍

nearly bought one of these at the beginning of the season, they do cut high, I used one last year (cause of the infamous argument) I like the stihls plastic box, I now have the 448 to replace my old viking, great little mower in the wet.

Enjoyed the video Jason, thank you. The Viking mowers always had an issue with the cut length too, it was the same story where in between level 2 and 3 was the sweet spot. Hopefully that'll be addressed by Stihl soon.

Thank you, glad you enjoy the video. A 2 and half setting would be perfect, but I believe stihl do listen to customers/your feedback and reviews such as this. Take care mate 👍

Thanks for the review Jason. Always good to hear your honest comments as a professional. Out of interest how long was the grass on the wet cut and are there better machines for cutting in the wet? Cheers

Thank you🙂. The bit in the video, was 2 weeks growth and weedy too, plus 24 hours of rain, so was for me the extreme I would cut grass. I really couldn't say what's the best wet mower. Take care mate 👍

Good review Jason, my Viking/Stihl 4 wheel mower has many of the same features as yours. Just wish the box could empty the conventional way some how as tipping into smaller bags is a pain.

Thanks mate, yes to tip out normal way, you do have to jiggle a bit, great box if going in to barrow/heep or big ton bag, but for smaller bags a pain. Take care mate 👍👍

Just got my son a Harry GX52SH engine 160cc Honda with 4 blade cutting system. Have to say 1st week cutting I'm very impressed with it in dry and wet grass.

Great review Jason. They are a heavy machine to lift around on your own. I have the battery stihl mower coming next week to test out.

Battery mower cool 👌👍, let us know how you get on with it, yes heavy, but I would never personally lift a mower these days, ramps in/out van, on the grass the weight, is no problem and very manoeuvrable. Take care mate 👍

Really enjoyed the review Jason. I like the look of the box spout, looks to catch really well. The handle on the side of the collector looks well though about.

Thanks mate. The signal handle is great, no more throwing the bag underneath the handles and then having to reach through I other mowers. 👍👍

Nice review👍 I’ve got the new hayter 56 pro, it’s approaching 60kg!! However it’s very manoeuvrable in use, barely notice the weight tbh. I suppose lifting it would be the only issue 🤷‍♂️

Great review I use Honda I do cut wet grass I’m all ways afraid of ripping up the grass because they are heavy.

Thanks mate, it's a heavy mower, but with the split smooth rolling, it doesn't rip the grass up, wet or dry. Take care mate 👍

Great review, just got a Honda hrx 476qy with the new Honda gcv 170engine. Such a bad buy, the engine rattles when warmed up, has been back to dealer and engine and clutch replaced, but still is a problem. Have now asked for a refund and was thinking of this stihl model. Have used 476s for 30 years and never a problem, this new one is a lemon. This review came at the right time.

O dear, that don't sound good, see if you can get a stihl on demo mate, that may help you, in your decision I personally like the stihl. Take care mate 👍

Great review Jason, I love the Stihl roller mower, I bought the Stihl rm650t just as a spare mower just to use as and when, it's not commercial but I have to say I'm very impressed with it👍

I can't speak about mowers iv not used, but out of all the mowers Iv used over the years, this stihl is probably the best in the wet

I find it doesn't like moss slows it down loads. The roller seems weak sometimes. cuts well in wet as you say.

Yes, not the cheapest mower, but it's a 21", so probably in line with other pro mowers of same size, thanks for watching mate 👍

There can be a little spin, but not a problem, if anything it helps on tight turns and being a smooth roller it doesn't rip grass. Take care mate 👍

Had a cpl of vikings for years and they've been great mowers can't complain at all and the drive hasn't worn out on my 7 series after 10 years use

54kg is a heavy unit , you going to feel that if you have 10 plus lawns to do a day .

Yes, it's a heavy mower, but honestly it doesn't feel it and very manoeuvrable, I'm not a biggest bloke and don't normally like using big mowers, but got on well with the stihl. Take care mate 👍
