What is the best tiller? Multi-purpose Stihl Yardboss MM55 walkthrough with the garden tiller / cultivator attachment installed. I touch on some of the key features of the unit and some of the stuff I enjoy about it. We finish up with a little bit of garden cultivating to help keep weeds under control and to loosen the dirt. I bought a Stihl MM56 upgrade from MM55. I was working on 5,000 sqft to plant a wildflower garden. My ground is hard black dirt in a pasture. My wife tried it out, she enjoyed using it. If you want deep cuts drag it backwards. Job done. Yes this ground has had different small cultivators, none work and results of this unit. Yes, the wheel where free because a of a sell.

Does it do well with hard clay soil?

It works well once it's been tilled with a larger tiller. Its mostly used for upkeep and planting! Works great!

The four mix motor doesn't run very long without a valve adjustment and poorly designed ,doesn't hit the ground right !!!!

Nice review . I will not be buying this unit now . Very weak looking . Essentially a weed wacker motor it sounds like .

Thanks, it's really meant for maintaining garden spaces and in situations where you need to easily be able to lift it. It's a multipurpose tool. I have a 5 ft tiller for my tractor so I really didn't need much more than this. I also have the power sweep attachment for easily cleaning rocks out of grass and such. To your point though, it is literally a 2 cycle engine on a stand. Works well for me and I love it! Thanks for stopping by!
