I've always been intrigued with how these four maneuvers are actually the same thing but just pointing the drone in a different direction for the maneuver. What do you guys think?

Thanks for doing this, it's much appreciated. I'm at the point in my journey where I'm really trying to grasp trippy spins, matty flips, and juicy flicks. It's a transition point that seems to be largely based around getting comfortable with flying backwards and/or inverted. I know these tricks have been broken down and beaten to death by many people and a lot of what makes them "scary" is the loss of visibility when inverted/backwards and it seems the solution is practice, understanding your quad's thrust vector at any given point, and SPATIAL AWARENESS. Obviously you can't practice for me, but it's encouraging to have an ace pilot such as yourself talk me through it all.

Great breakdown and explanation man ! You could also do the same with powerloop / side powerloop / Matty : it's fun to just put a 90° yaw in the same direction at the end of each loop ( under the object or over it ), and a great exercise to get the feel of where your quad is going in relation to your camera angle : ) It unlocks so many possibilities !

@feelfreefpv

Just try it again and again in a sim. Although it may be helpful to know the theory of how to move that trick just has to be practiced before you really wrap your head around it. At least for me that was the case for that particular trick. Start out by getting in a position where you look up at the object. For example by flying just past the object on one side and then pitching up. From there try rolling and add some throttle (I added too much throttle in panic at first that lead to loss of control). If the roll seemed to go the wrong way try to fly past the object on the other side or just roll the other way, whichever seems more comfortable. From there on it's all about trying to get a feel for it. Trying to not get too far away from the object and keep going. Tricky trick... I can only do it semi consistantly one way. The other way around feels even harder.

I have a problem with loosing altitude when trying a trippy spin . Do you think it could be because I run my cam around 30 dig ? I have just about got the trick where you pull up on a pole or tree and Start heading like your going to go around it but instead pitch back where your looking back at the pole and pulling out of it heading back the direction you were coming from which I think looks cool af but I feel like that could turn into a trippy spin . Am I right on that? Thx for the video stingy.
