Stirling Engine & Dynamo powering Radio.

Күн бұрынThis engine is to my own design using materials in my scrap bin.
It is an all brass fabrication which I silver soldered, The piston is aluminium which I hard anodised, The Cylinder is a glass tube which I lapped using a piece of aluminium which I drilled then split and attached to an old expanding reamer, after mounting it between centres I turned it to size, I then charged the lap with valve grinding paste by rolling it on a hard surface to embed it, adjustments to the lap for ware were made by tightening the nuts on the reamer.The Dynamo is a capstan motor salvaged from an old VCR built into an aluminium casing. The Radio is a commercial one running on six volts. Fuel is ethyl alcohol.

I wish someone would sell Stirling engines like this. Can't hardly find anything online, and the ones I can find aren't very good.

So many innovations and amazing fabrications with repurposed tools and bits! Loved the flame adjuster and the heat housing on the end.
