after some tests i realized that the radiator i used was too small, so i decided to open the coolant circuit to cool the engine with cold water from a well, the result was the best performance of ever.

What is interesting about this one is the speed at which it is operating,some on youtube appear to be travelling much faster,could this be something to do with the weight of the components used as it is harder to accelerate and decelerate heavier parts.

Theoreticaly they are very efficient because they can work with a verry small flame. Sadly their power isnt even enough to run something else than a small pump or dynamo.

Very nice setup. I like the liquid cooled cylinder. I would like to see it running with an aluminum fly wheel. Won't store as much inertia as yours, so won't run as long as yours upon heat source removal. But I bet you could crank some serious RPMs out after doing so. Your flywheel is a tad excessive in my opinion.
@dansw0rkshop
@dansw0rkshop 7 жыл бұрын
The flyweel looks like the rotor from a large induction motor. He probably used it because it was easily available.

Yeah the bearings fit perfectly into a standard carrier but it's powerless. Could use a water-pump to promote cooling? Idk what it needs but certainly better compression. Just get a machine shop to trim some materials and then use them. Like milled & anodized aluminum tube (not pipe) or cast iron pipes milled for cylinder walls. Better yet, graphite and just focus more on weight distribution than compression.

seems your flywheel is off balance if you fix that it will perform a lot better keep us updated on your coolness tho

not really but if you choose to use ethanol or something simple like wood it is carbon neutral and gives the advantage of we have to produce the energy before we can consume it to make sure we don't run energy deficits like we have been doing with fossil fuels.

Oh dear, another video showing same over shots and no commentary on what the purpose of the demonstration is, this what ticks me off about YT, not one person seems to sit down ans "Script or Choreograph or Storyboard" what they are doing or demonstrating but instead we have camera in, camera back shots, side shots over shots. This makes me go Arrrrrgggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

You should be able to get much better performance, but the water jacket is on the the heated cylinder, so you have water take away the input. The water jacket should be on the other cylinder. The heat flows to the cold cylinder. A short connection would prevent losses from pressure expansion..
@edlingja1
@edlingja1 6 жыл бұрын
EmmittBrownBTTF1 Dude... This is a correct design... The cooling jacket is on the power piston, as far as possible from the hot... Edit: the second one is a regenerator, thus all the noise. It's double noisy.
