Ben if you read this, I like your lectures. One thing I would love for you to do is ask the audience a bit more questions and give them some time to think about the problems themselves. Just ask for example what the audience thinks is the best move in a certain position and make them explain themselves. Perhaps do this with moves that you see that have a certain tactic behind them and require 3-4 steps of calculation. Anyway, great lecture!

Hi Ben, during the Toronto International Chess Tournament, 1981, won by Korchnoi; do you remember your post-mortem with Dlugy in a Benoni where an East Asian kibitzer commented on a three half move maneuver whereupon both you and Dlugy looked up to see who made the comment? I think it was a black knight maneuver that was non-obvious. That was me. Can you recall the game and what you thought of my comment?
@blackjackreward4456
@blackjackreward4456 2 жыл бұрын
The game might have been one where only one of you played someone else, I'm looking for the game score so I can remember what I said. Therefore I might start with the two players involved in that Benoni.

Can anybody tell me plz if I'm 1600 at 2min blitz, then what would be my rating normally?
@Kelvinllovejr
@Kelvinllovejr 7 жыл бұрын
You have to play OTB to find out. My highs on chess.com are 2095 bullet and 1958 blitz and I'm 1741 USCF. If I tried to assume what my rating is OTB then I would figure 1900s or 2000s but i'd be horribly wrong. Bullet and blitz pretty much leave out the endgame so bullet and blitz players don't have to be great at it to be high. Chess isn't about speed and opening memorization its about opening well then playing a smart middle game then showing great endgame technique. Id say you would be 1400-1500 USCF over the board because you probably don't have a great middle game and your endgame is probably very poor. To put it in prospective Ben is 2500 USCF.
