Ben if you read this, I like your lectures. One thing I would love for you to do is ask the audience a bit more questions and give them some time to think about the problems themselves. Just ask for example what the audience thinks is the best move in a certain position and make them explain themselves. Perhaps do this with moves that you see that have a certain tactic behind them and require 3-4 steps of calculation. Anyway, great lecture!

Excellent and very instructive video, this great GM commentary and analysis also inspired me to write an article on my website for chess beginners regarding piece development strategies. I believe learning chess at the early stages will help a lot to become more successful in the later stages...

(I play at mid level beginner level) I have followed the advice - develop, control center, castle (and my rooks are connected) the computer I'm playing has only 1 piece developed, no control of center and the King is exposed - no castle. Yet - I'm stuck and can find no way to attack ! Hi Ben, during the Toronto International Chess Tournament, 1981, won by Korchnoi; do you remember your post-mortem with Dlugy in a Benoni where an East Asian kibitzer commented on a three half move maneuver whereupon both you and Dlugy looked up to see who made the comment? I think it was a black knight maneuver that was non-obvious. That was me. Can you recall the game and what you thought of my comment?

I wish I could attend your classes, Mr. Ben Finegold, even though I do not understand grand master games until it is explained thoroughly. (My rating on chess.com is around 1700, that must be the reason...) P.S. I don't understand why the class is so quite all the time. I laugh my ass of sometimes :)
