Stock 90s Diesel Cruiser VS Rough Sand/Rock Trail, Can We Make It?

The first official trail since owning the 80 series Land Cruiser, we take it to the Klein Tafelberg Trail in the Western Cape and see how far we can get on this renoun tough trail compared to the modern 4WDs.

Awesome trail, definitely adding it to the list. Nice line-up of old school straight 6 diesels. Hendri it was nice meeting you at the Terrain tamer meet and greet. Garage and trip videos sounds good to me.

Awesome video as always. I am planning on doing the 4x4 trail in march, what gear were you in when you went up heart break hill...I don't want to let Rafiki down. She has HD-FT, manual with Front and Rear lockers.

That's a killer combo, you'll be fine. Just take note to deflate tyres properly and by that I mean readjust pressures as you continue the trail. Enjoy!

Very Nice Hendri. Haven't ever done Klein Tafelberg. What happened to Roland and the Donkey? He was there at the beginning and then disappeared?

We had quite a big group which was split into two parts. Dieter and I hung at the back to get the rad footage you saw 😉

It's about 6.5-7.5kml with the 33s and roofrack. Not as efficient as it could be, but still a ton better than the V8's I've owned.

1HDT or FTE? I've got a 76 series with the 1HDT and it sounds identical to that rig! Love it

This one is a 1HD-FT 24 valve, but I love them so much that I got another 80 project with the 1HD-T💪🏻

@@HendriMouton sick, sounds like you've got an addiction there haha. Have you done the trail from Kagga Kama down to Die Mond? We should organise it soon, and has 1 wild camp night half way along the trail in stunning location

@@HendriMouton I cant figure out how to DM on YoutTube lol, but Im keen to organise a group in the next 2/3 weeks to hit that trail - nice to hit the pool at Die Bos after that trail & wild camp for 1 night in desolation.
