Never been able to understand when investors invest in a company that they believe is at a good price and that the business is a really good one. Then the price keeps going lower and lower, and then they say something like “at this time I’m not buying it, although I still believe it’s a good business, but I’m just not buying more for whatever reason”. If you believed it was at a good price at $100 and now it’s down to $80, why not load up the truck at $80? Isn’t $80 a better investment opportunity with less risk?

Probably because each company has its set of risks, and one doesn't want overexposure to a certain risk

@@hugomeza2910 That’s not how it works. Every investment has an inherent risk, you cannot know for certain what will happen in the future. The essential when investing is having an asymmetric risk/reward, meaning that the odds are essentially in your favor. An easy illustration for this is investing in China. From a valuation perspective, it’s clear that Chinese tech is at a great value at the moment. However, the geopolitical risk is a big unknown. So overexposing to this risk would be ill advised.

That being said, it is true that some investments can be no-brainers, and if you are 1000% confident that your investment has no risk, it’s all upside, then one can go almost all in. But those are extremely rare.

Linde plc is a company to bet on. Result of the merger between the 2 major gas companies, leading the sector. Very well positioned for hydrogen transition. Delivering +10% Dividend growth yearly and with an agressive buyback program. Disclosure: i own some dozens of Linde shares since feb/2021.

Hey Jimmy, love the idea of a stock "bullpen" instead of calling it a watchlist! I am currently long several of these companies, and several more are in my bullpen as well. The only stock that surprised me as Atkore (ATKR), so thanks for the callout there! If I had to suggest a few companies in the healthcare sector, I would go with Bristol Myers Squibb (BMY), Pfizer (PFE), Humana (HUM) and Elevance (ELV). BMY and PFE are both pharmaceuticals that are facing headwinds related to government pricing and post-pandemic normalization (PFE especially), but they have pretty solid product pipelines and future revenues regardless of these near-term issues. HUM and ELV are both mainly healthcare benefits companies. They have less margin of safety than BMY and PFE in my opinion, but HUM and ELV both have excellent bottom line growth and dividend growth potential. I'm currently long BMY, ELV, and HUM, and looking to buy PFE in the future!

MMM is a stock thats seen alot of turbulance and seems to be getting solid numbers and results of lawsuit costs. I would be curious to know your thoughts taking into account the lawsuit costs and fair value.

complete gamble imo: steady operational income and growth but lawsuits from EU environmental damage (forever chemicals) and US military personnel can very realistically be in the multiple billions.

@@SD4... yeah, although the $10 billion for the forever chemicals is still awaiting approval. These payouts mean MMM had to cut 8500 jobs and will probably shrink even further for the short term.

At my age I mostly stay away from individual stock but bonds and mutual funds are not my thing. What I’ve settled on is researching a stock mentioned in a video or article and if I like it I look for an ETF that carries it and if a cursory look at the other stock on their list don’t scare me, I buy the ETF. I guess that’s my version of buying an index fund while still keeping my hair on fire.

I own quite a lof of these! Alphabet (100), WBD (13) , Baba (95), Citi (45) and Intel (35) are all part of my portfolio. Think I got decent entries as well :) Especially WBD seems like a steal at current prices but since it is a risky play and it's already my biggest position I'm a bit hesitant to add more. For healthcare stocks: I personally own WBA which is very cheap but also has its risks and I find both CVS and BMY very interesting as a bit stronger companies at a decent price!

Hi Jimmy! I am very happy that you found Atkore and you consider it a good company (investment). Actually I found it last year at ~72 - 75USD and started to research it. Finally I bought the first shares at 85 because it started to go up and got some attention lately from institutionals. My average price now is at 118USD and I would like to add more but only if the price drop. Celanese - sold it at ~20% profit - I do not like the debt level so I did not risk more. Great video! (as always)
