I know the risks associated with smoking cigars and I want you to know also. I love my cigar moments and cigars so I will continue to enjoy this hobbie and knowing the risks of whatever it is I'm doing is imporant.
As always, these are my opinion about cigars and I am not forcing anyone to do whatever it is that you want to do. Do you and take this as another information you can use to make a smart decision.
Have fun with cigars! This is a relaxing hobby! Cigars may actually be good for you if you don't over do it.

I havent seen enough in depth studies on cigars to make an educated conclusion to determine if cigars are good or bad.Cigarretes on the other hand are highly processed and have over 200 ingredients in them

I am a heart patient. Mitral valve replacement. I suffer from grand mal seizures, and have developed a slight tremor in my left hand. All tied to the heart surgery, in theory. Never smoked before. I am an illustrator, and I am left handed. I smoke cigars now, 1-2 a week. It is relaxing. The nicotine helps calm the slight tremors, and I am drawing again. No patches, or nicotine gum. I did research cigars before starting January last year was my first. The difference of drawing before, and after, in my left hand tremor is amazing.

I’m glad that you found something that is working with your health issues. Although I’m not a doctor nor am an expert on health, I really do feel that we should do what makes us happy. At the end, I don’t want to regret anything in life. Oh, I’m not afraid of death. We all eventually expire and I can honestly say that I lived. I’m happy that you’re back to doing what you love to do!! Cheers!

@@kochy8535 Sorry for your grandfather. I feel your pain. My grandma on my dad’s side died of lung cancer from smoking cigarettes. Not sure how much. She continued to smoke after diagnosis. Even had one of those oxygen tanks. About 75 years young she passed. My aunt on my mom’s side was 3-4 packs a day. No health issues. Died at the ripe age of 96. She passed of a broken heart, husband died a couple years earlier, and she didn’t quite bounce back. There was also questionable home care she had. Another time on that one. Not planning on doing more than 2 a week. Takes 3 day for nicotine to leave your system. 3 days after cigar, I can see the slight tremors start to come back.

Chris, you are just honest and straightforward and that’s what I like about you and all the videos you do. Of course, the are risks coming along with smoking cigars and it is totally fair that you bring it on the table so that people are aware of them. On the other hand, if you are aware of the pros and cons, you can make a wise decision. Only educated people can do that, so everything’s absolutely fine. I‘m willing to take the risks, you are willing to take it, so let’s enjoy them the best way we can 👍🏻😊

I’m going to turn 71 this year. The actuarial tables tell me that I’ve lived over 91% of my life. I’ve just started smoking cigars, about two a week, and I really don’t give a hoot about the health risks at this point. I’m going to die soon and I know it and I’m OK with that. I really, really enjoy smoking a premium cigar. It’s probably the most enjoyable thing I have left to me. For all you fear mongers out there, put that in your pipe and smoke it!

I want to suggest another thing for anybody who is debating whether to smoke tobacco is that you should also be keenly aware of your own health. For example, try to measure your blood pressure at two different times per day (NOT after or during smoking) That way you can establish your base Blood pressure art rest. Then after you begin smoking your cigar, or pipe or whatever, measure your BP again 10, and 20 minutes after. I had an uncle who died from a heart attack when smoking, after smoking more than a pack of uncluttered heavy cigs for at least 20 years. He was around 40 only. You will see whether nicotine raises your blood pressure and by how much. Of course if you have a weak heart always consider that too. My dad is alive but he also smoked a lot. He almost lost his lung due to microphones having appeared and having caused leakage into the space between ribs and lungs. Doctor said they were lucky to pump the water out and to glue the lung back. Now he has to use oxygen regularly at night cause it drops under 90%

I agree that children should stay away from tobacco till they are adults, but having said that - when my daughter reaches 18 I will be ok with her smoking cigars. But if she smokes cigarettes I will get very upset! Cigarettes are designed to get you addicted to nicotine, that is pretty much their only function. Premium cigars are designed to enrich your life with a relaxing hour plus of fine taste and aroma engaging all 5 senses and too much nicotine can limit that enjoyment, so we smoke cigars despite the nicotine you could say. I personally feel the dangers of cigarettes have been overblown some, and then those dangers simply copied and pasted for cigars when they are clearly different products, and the main danger factor is exposure rate. Someone addicted to cigarettes can't get through the day without a few smokes, whereas a cigar smoker like me will happily wait till the weekend to enjoy my smoke. So in the space of a year, how much smoke was I exposed to compared to the cigarette smoker? Much less, and I got so much more enjoyment out of my time smoking compared to the poor cigarette smoker who was simply feeding the addiction and taking in 500 plus chemicals with every drag

Excellent useful pointers! Here are some self-help pointers for Cigar, Pipe, Cigarette, and all tobacco products users. Years ago in Europe, I heard from credible medical personnel that Eating Pineapple kills various cancers. This was authenticated dome years later in the USA by two practicing doctors. I worked in a VA Medical center. One day, a Doctor came to the Police station where I worked. While the doctor was waiting for a report, I chatted with him. My intuition made me say to him that occasionally, I smoke a cigar. The doctor then said to me that he has been a practicing oral surgeon for 40 years. The Oral Surgeon further said to me that it's ok once or twice a month to smoke a cigar, just eat Fresh Pineapple afterward. As we found that Fresh Pineapple kills cancers. One month later, a dentist came to the VA Police station while he waited I mentioned to him what the Oral surgeon said to me a month prior. The dentist said that he's been practicing for 30 years and what the doctor, the oral surgeon told me, was true that Fresh Pineapple kills various cancers. The dentist further stated, "It must be "Fresh Pineapple." "They don't want us telling you this". I asked who is; "They", the Administration, Big Pharmaceutical Industrial Complex? The Dentist answered with a, Yes. Chewing and eating Ginger Root is also effective for self cleansing. It has also been proven that eating Turmeric with Black Pepper is a powerful cancer killer. In one case, a woman in the UK had blood cancer and stopped chemotherapy. It was documented that she put Turmeric on all her foods regularly, and as a result, the cancer was killed.

@@barryalesiaackerman1433 All cigars vary. I would recommend one withe a floured ,or sweetened tip. Also light on the pepper flavor. Go to an actual cigar shop. The tobacconist can help you. Remember cigars are to be tasted. Do not inhale! I enjoy mine with either ice water, or nutmeg creamed coffee. Afterwards, I usually eat an orange. Helps to remove cigar mouth, and helps to break up cigar build up in the mouth. Brush teeth, and make sure to brush roof of mouth, gum line, and tongue. If at night, I will also use a non-alcoholic mouth wash. Also best enjoyed after eating something. I usually smoke after dinner. Nice close to the day. It is relaxing. It is a slow process to smoke.

Even if we choose to smoke, whether it is cigars or any other form of tobacco, (or marijuana) it is still important to be honest and rational about their very real risk and harm. We cannot deny that cigars are still poisoning us with nicotine which destroys and weakens our blood vessels and still will contribute to having heart disease and strokes. We still have to be honest so that even if we are a hypocrite, we are not denying the reality.

I smoke cigars at 22 because I’ve gone through cigs, vapes, weed pens, joints all of it. But I enjoy cigars because of the buzz, the smoke it produces, the fact that I don’t inhale into lungs, and I get to enjoy my own time by myself or with a buddy while I have a cigar. But I gotta say I spend way more on cigars then all the others. $15-$25 a stick!!! I think I need to order a box. Better value of course.

I think one should not ask if cigars are bad for you, because we all (including most tobacco users) know the risks of tobacco. The question you should ask yourself is "why do you want to smoke", "What's your reason to smoke". If it's to patch up problems or a form of escapism to get you through the negative things in your life. Maybe you shouldn't smoke. Most cigar enthusiasts smoke for pleasure only. Like wine tasters that occasionally drink. They don't drink to get drunk, they drink to enjoy the taste purely; they drink to enjoy life. People that drink beer and whiskey drink to get drunk; they drink to escape life. My Short answer is to not smoke, but My long answer is, if you're going to smoke? Don't touch cigarettes or chew tobacco. Enjoy your life with an occasional Premium Cigar.

@@clipz4238 well if that’s the case then I recommend the Macanudo Cafe Robusto as a starter. If you want one and done then any of the Cohiba cigars would do. I don’t recommend a one and done. Smoking cigars are a gentlemen’s habit. It’s something I truly enjoy and every aspect of it. If you have a cigar shop nearby then go and friend the salesman and ask for advice on your first cigar. This way you are guided correctly with experience and you don’t end up having a bad experience. Most initial attempts to smoke a cigar ends up being nauseous, throwing up and never again to smoke. I got sick the first time and I didn’t smoke another cigar until years later. Good luck with your adventure and please give updates.
