Use your natural hair to your advantage | stop wanting to look like everyone else.
Today we are having a chat about diversity and the beauty in diversity! I titled the video “You should stop trying to look like everyone else and here’s why ” because I myself and many others have changed things about ourselves to fit certain molds when sometimes keeping the unique features/things about us that set us apart may help us have a better experience!
I’d love to hear your thoughts?

That's so beautiful and I lately have been preparing myself mentally for a child and especially challenging myself to look at how I perceive myself and my appearance. I want to be able to look at my child and preach something that i genuinely feel about myself. Loved the video! Thanks for opening up

This is so good Gwen! I was just telling someone that everyone looks the same. Everyone is aspiring to be “that girl” instead of being yourself
@Offthebeatenpath.
@Offthebeatenpath. 4 ай бұрын
I’ve seen a few “that girl” videos too and I think it’s one thing to see things and feel inspired or grow into who you want to be but it’s another thing to be someone entirely different for the sake of a trend

The notion you mentioned on having a child and seeing your features in them is so true! I have a sweet little baby girl now and hearing others as well as myself talk about how beautiful she is with my features is making me slowly look at my own features in a different light.

That’s a really interesting thing you pointed out about how if you have a unique look, the person you choose to settle down with will most likely get the same looks and stares that you get. I can also imagine how parenthood may make you embrace the little quirks and things maybe you once didn’t like about yourself physically especially when seeing it in your child. I used to hate my gap (I’ve actually had braces once and clear correct as an adult) and now after all that money, I miss it 😩. I should have just embraced it all along!
@Offthebeatenpath.
@Offthebeatenpath. 4 ай бұрын
It’s so funny you mentioned the gap because I had a portion of the video talking about gap in teeth and how in some cultures it’s seen as very attractive, but I took that part out 🙃
@TheKhrissss

@@Offthebeatenpath. that’s really funny because one of my teachers in middle school mentioned that to me too😩😂. Also, my grandpa had a gap and a lot of people in my family have a gap, so it’s like what am I really saying by trying to cover that up? And then when I see things like that, or features like freckles on other people and I see how confidently they wear it and how good I think it looks on them, it makes me want to do better about embracing it for myself.

I enjoyed this topic! Being a Christian living in this word it’s easy to feel out numbered by what the we think is beauty by hearing and seeing the people around us but it’s important to focus on what is good and true “the word of God” and once you get ground in his word you being to understand the truth and see the world in a different perspective ☺️

They were intrigued and curious.😊 Geniuses is a very interesting chapter. Also I am in a space I want to have more friends as well. I actually made two new friends at the ymca lol 😂 which I like because I know they like working out and most likely will go hiking or do outdoor activities with me lol

Nice video and topic. Pretty earrings ❤ There are beauty standards that make women look ridiculous. First, it was overlined eyebrows. Now, women are overlining their lips, making them appear as though they have been on a "пorn set". It looks silly, especially on women who already have beautiful full lips. Next year, it will be something else, and some women will hop onto that bandwagon. Classic beauty doesn't require following trends. Women have become sheeps: follow the Kardashians, Internet "influencers" ... The list goes on and on.

I’m on the decentering men journey right now and just working on myself and embracing my uniqueness of being a light skin black women. I have a question for you ? I know alot of light skin black women on a channel I follow want to date out but feel like white men only like unambiguous black women due to things on social media recently. Do you feel like that was a problem when you are dating before you got a husband or you think people are just trying to do stereotypes ? I also am growing my hair out and wearing natural wigs until my hair grows longer. I stop wearing eye lashes and I still wear make up but just try to advance my natural looks. I’m a Christian also. I’m Brittany you might have remember me. I created my channel to talk about complex issues and so now I’m anonymous with my photos but curious to know what you think about this ? I believe attraction is subjective and God will bless you regardless if it’s meant to be.
@Offthebeatenpath.
@Offthebeatenpath. 4 ай бұрын
Hey Brittany! Which channel if you don’t mind me asking 👀lol I wonder if that’s how it is now because when I was dating I can’t say that was my experience. In my experience men in general, white men included liked pretty woman. Didn’t matter if you looked black, biracial, white or even purple lol. With saying that I do remember not a lot of black woman(lightskin or brownskin) being into white men(at least from people I hung out with, I was always the outlier because I dated out) so maybe that’s why it seems that way 🤔But generally if you are cute and keep up with yourself and more importantly if you are a lady you shouldn’t have any issues🫶🏽 Being a Christian you may find it harder finding a genuine Christian than a man interested in your looks. It’s a lot of fakes out here but I think you’re on the right path appreciating your uniqueness, drawing close to the Lord and embracing yourself! The Lord will lead you and give you wisdom when choosing a spouse 🫶🏽 Also is this your channel? I’d love to support and subscribe!
