There is a known issue with fiberglass door flexing, especially on Clio's. there is a very simple solution. Window latch kit. But you can only get it from USA. so it's freaking expensive for what it is! be prepared to modify it as its not perfect! but it works very very well!

I’ve considered these but for 200 it’s just too much for what it is, especially given your findings. The solution I have always thought would work best would be magnetic blocks, you can buy them in a range of sizes and strengths designed to hold household doors closed etc. With a bit of experimenting I’m pretty sure you could find some that are strong enough to hold the top of the door closed at speed and they don’t require any latches to open so no difficulty for someone trying to pull you from a burning car. If necessary you could fit several at different locations. Cost a couple of quid each

Depends how desperate you are. I had an idea about magnets but finding correct size/strength seems like a lot of effort

I don’t know, I’d say having these latches shipped and spending the time fitting them is a lot of effort. Mag blocks are just a couple of simple screws and available from all hardware stores. And given the cost you could buy an assortment of them for 1/10th the cost of the latches. I will experiment with it when I get my windows fitted

Wow those doors flapping must have been seriously getting to you for what it cost for those poppers! Rubbish that for that money the kit needed modifying to fit. Clever idea though and everyone likes a satisfying clunk right?😂
