Tks for that quick update Matt. ... The Fast Net light house clocked 176 KM.. well over 100 MPH. I took a gamble and left my guyed WIMO mast up... it tops 10 meters... say 30FT. It is double guyed and took the lot in its stride. Both my Diamond 300 and Diamond 510 survived too. It was wild here... all power gone since 08:00 but it is just back. Take care Matt... keep 'em coming. Albert EI7II

Matt.... as said.... THANKS for that update... I had my heart in my throat when I saw that spider pole doing a " Derwish Dance" It is the reason I went for the Wimo Aluminium 13 meter mast. Lowering it takes only minutes. Yes at about 300 pounds is is big money but we will hope for many years of good service. It is a miracle that yr EndFed did not break. I know the reputable makers use HARD drawn copper... but even so.... about 25 kg is the max that a 2mm wire can take. Matt.... that Endfed works miracles... my 200 milliwatts is hitting EVERY NOOK and Cranny around the globe. Hitting Antarctica EVERY day... and it should not... as that is about due south of me... shows that the radiation patterns are a bit unpredictable... It is also hitting Greenland... I did not even know there was an amateur fellah there. The dammed thing is ALL over Australia and New Zealand... just goes to prove what a fantastic mode Whisper is ! Hawaii is in the books and on Europe I have given up... they are going to take my license away as they will say I am painting the map red and green. Matt.. enjoy our fantastic Hobby ( soo much more than a hobby and Keep 'em coming. THANKS ! Albert EI7II.

@@albert7ii thanks Albert. The last wire broke last November so only replaced the wire 2 weeks ago so hope it lasts a bit longer. If it goes again I may order Kevlar wire and try that. I have a really small garden so hard to get the end fed out properly. I'm still very new to HF and really enjoy it, so I'm still amazed I'm on 🤣 I'm a huge FT8 user here. My favourite mode by far. I have put all my awards on my website as and when I get new ones. Have over 400 now 🤣 your mast seems like just the job. Well worth the investment 😊

Hi Matt, I replaced all my antennas with M&P coax from RG213 / LMR400 Really to bring down the thickness of the cables. I note you mention using M&P bury in respect of loss. You wont notice anything with regard to loss on HF my friend. I use to worry a lot about loss as i have numerous radio servers, adsb/ais stations around Scotland. I spent a small fortune replacing all my feeds and radios with M&P and honestly did not measure any difference of loss on HF 0-30Mhz even using RG8/RG8Mini. VHF-UHF is where the M&P will perform with loss reduction. Great videos im subscribed 😎Just bought an 80-10M EFHW and a bit worried about RF after watching your video.

Hi what tape did you use if any on the spiderbeam pole to help secure joints
@JezUK4562 жыл бұрын
Why don’t you lower it while the weather is bad? On your spiderbeam which endfed do you have? Do your neighbours get annoyed with the poles? One of mine gets very funny about it. Also did u need planning?
@m6ceb2 жыл бұрын
Hi Jez! I can't easily lower it as all the joints are taped and my garden isn't long enough to take it down temporarily. My neighbours are fantastic here. Few raised eyebrows when they first went up but been up years now. I use the UK Antennas end fed (review in the channel) 73 mate thanks for watching 🔥👍

@@m6ceb I have the 40 to 10 one from them. But looking to get the full 80 - 10 as it will give me 17 as well. They work really well.
@m6ceb2 жыл бұрын
@@JezUK456 I had the 80m one but it snapped, thing the weight of the loading coil didn't help so I ordered the 40, 20, 15 & 10 from Ian at UK antennas so there's less weight. He's changed the design now so you can add the 80 in as and when you want it. My swr on 17 on the new antenna is 1.6/1.7 so my atu tunes it with no issues. Great band.🙏🔥

@@m6ceb If you have the add on for 80 that still has the coil so wouldn’t it snap again? I’m a bit confused. Also out of interest do you get good DX on it? Be interesting to no how far you have managed to get a contact. How do you get 17 on that as I can’t get it. My icom tuner won’t tune it.
