I'd never expect a video talking about the growth and change of my favorite band ever (Metallica), would come from a vkei channel😅 whatever, keep on rocking!!

i think another part of us not really recognizing the change and feeling that sense of loss is that some of these older bands we have gotten into in more recent years so it’s a bit harder to appreciate the band’s journey rather than hyper-fixating on their sound from when they were younger simply because we weren’t there when they were younger in those early days.

Do you know what era Kyo was talking about his anger? I've been a lifelong Diru fan but I only casually read what they've said in interviews. He's never written a song that doesn't have some level of negative-worldview to it. A few have a hopeful vibe of kind of pushing on past things but they have no songs that are just happy. That said perhaps he seemed angriest around Withering to Death (2005), The Marrow of a Bone (2007). Uroboros (2008) was somewhat angry. Dum Spiro Spero (2011) although being arguably their heaviest album seems lyrically to be mostly impersonal. Arche (2014) is written very poetically and doesn't seem particularly angry. The Insulated World (2018) is lyrically more straight forward and angry, I actually think this might be their most personal and angriest album. But it also feels less melancholy than Withering to Death and Marrow of a Bone. Phalaris (2022) is more poetic again but more spiritual and less psychedelic compared to Arche. I can't pick up on a trend towards being more or less happy, I guess. He does seem to be a little happier in some of his stage interactions since Withering to Death/Marrow era. His other band Sukekiyo has made some very poppy songs, although the lyrics are still about unfortunate things. Petit Brabancon's music seems angry but fun at the same time. I don't like their old music any less but I do generally prefer their newer releases to older ones. I just feel like they've only been raising the bar. I actually think their most angry albums (Withering to Death, The Marrow of a Bone, and The Insulated World) are some of the least popular, although The Insulated World is my all time favorite. I said DSS seems like on of the least personal/angry albums but that one is very well liked (by me included - probably my second favorite). tl;dr: how his anger has affected his music and the fans' reception is a confusing mess
