A jig for straightening edges of wonky boards and creating tapers on the table saw.
Hardware I used:
* 2 - 1/4"-20 thread, 3.5 inch hex bolts (for hold-down clamps)
* 2 - 1/4"-20 thread, 2 inch T-knobs (for hold-down clamps)
* 2 - 1/4" washer (for hold-down clamps)
* 2 - 3/4" dowel, 1.5" inches long, ripped in half (for hold-down
clamps)
* 1 - 36" inch Universal T-Track (for fence)
* 1 - 36" inch miter bar (table saw miter slot)
* 2 - 1/4"-20 thread, 2.5 inch T-slot bolts (to attach fence to sled)
* 2 - 1/4"-20 thread, 2 inch T-knobs (to attach fence to sled)
* 2 - 1/4" washer (to attach fence to sled)
*13 - #6-32 x ½ in. Flat Head Machine Screws (replaceable strip)
*13 - #6-32 Nylon Lock Nuts (replaceable strip)

I would love to have the plans for this, but I will not ever make a face book account to download it. That being said, I'm sure I can make due with what you show in the video. I'm actually planning on making some changes anyway. I love the replaceable edge idea. Most of the other videos I've seen had nothing to stop tear-out of the boards they were cutting.

I don’t do much woodworking anymore, but back in the day, when I had a full shop, for me coming up with ideas on how to make my gadgets and jigs, was a rewarding part of being in the shop, and I spent nearly fifty years in there. Like the feller in this video, there was a tremendous amount of pride and satisfaction in showing off what I had accomplished and the usefulness of the finished product. Great video.

Nice. Hell yes I can use that. Beginner here. Last year I made some legs for a nightstand and made my own jig which functioned albeit poorly. I need one like this so I will be watching this again and again before making it.

Wow, I like your demonstration of cutting a square pole to have a narrow head. It is a brilliant idea to finish work neatly with the clamps and "leveling block" in just 4 cut. Your are with great talent in wood work and in engineering!

I made a jig last year to basically do what yours does and while it works very well, I also like the simplicity of yours. Great job, I always enjoy watching your videos.

Wow, this was the most well done and visual demonstration of a jig I have seen on KZfaq. I will be making this jig very soon as I acquire a lot of remnant pieces of walnut and maple from a live edge woodworking outfit

Congratulations! First video I’ve seen where someone has the good sense to use a runner in the miter slot, rather than trying to use the fence. Instant repeatability, and the sled doesn’t get torn up.

This was probably the best one I’ve ever seen! It was short, to the point, with loads of visual information and excellent videography.
