Gaten, Caleb, Sadie, Millie and Joe were all absolutely phenomenal, the level of acting they all show for how young they are is amazing

I felt so many emotions that I haven’t felt before. Never thought a show could do that lol But, I think for Season 5: Vecna didn’t die because Will is still alive, Eleven “killed” every part of the hive mind that she could think of, but she forgot will is still attached because she loves him as a friend. As soon as Will came back to Hawkins, Vecna connected back with him to gain power and heal for his new battle. In Season 5 they’ll probably realize that, and Will might end up sacrificing himself to save everyone he loves, especially Mike

Season 4 is by far my favorite. So many emotions! I do agree that some parts were drawn out. R.I.P Eddie, but when he gave Dustin the never change speech, I felt the writing was on the wall… Looking forward to Season 5! Enjoyed your recap.

She was a school counselor I guess and she noticed all this with these kids and didn't report it to anyone it's kind of weird with them all having the same symptoms

I think Mike knows or suspects something about Will. In the van, while Will looks out the window, Mike looks at him briefly, then looks back down at the painting. El isn’t well versed in literature and fantasy. She’s still learning how to try and be a regular kid. How would she know to “commission” a painting that detailed? Look at the paining and it shows all the boys and how Will sees them and their roles in their friendship. It deals a lot with fantasy, D&D, the Lord of the Rings, there’s no way El assisted Will in painting that lol. That’s why Mike looked at the picture again because he knows El had nothing to do with it. Also when he got mad at Will he said” it’s not my fault you don’t like girls”. Also Will has been accused of being gay since season 1. The bullies called him that, his own father said he was, Joyce described him as “sensitive” I think the boys know, but he’s their friend and they won’t bring it up, unless he does first. We also have to realize that it was the 80s and back then being called gay was an insult and label you didn’t want. That’s why the pacing of him coming out is slower. Robin told Steve because she probably thought they were going to die anyway lol and remember she still had that truth serum in her. I bring Robin up because people keep trying to compare her coming out to Will. Also people forget she only told Steve. No one else in the group knows.

YES! That guitar solo was AMAZING!! Yeah justice for Barb, Bob, and Eddie!!! The town stated that Billy saved ppl (I think). And Dustin’s speeches were good too 😭

The Will, Nancy, Steve love triangle feels contrived AF. Of all my grievances with this season, that is the biggest. I still enjoyed the season overall though.

When I saw the upside down come into the right side up I screamed so many words that would get my comment blocked lol 😂 I have binged watch all the seasons since last Friday. I had never seen an episode before then. I almost wish I would have waited till the end of season 5 so I didn’t have to wait but there were WAY too many spoilers coming out so I needed to watch before it was completely spoiled for me. Happy to see you reviewing the show!

Lucas and Max in this episode Gabe me goosebumps!! Honestly, Will’s monologues did too. I think they are setting up ppl having to cut into Mike for being so aloof like his daddy, Ted. Cause Will and Dustin are more of the heart of the group IMO.

Will was the main character in the first Episode. I have a feeling he will a main character in the finale. It started with Will and I suspect will end with Will. Vecna I suspect has part of Max as El went into Max's mind, but it was empty. I think that will also play a part somewhere 🤔.... Vecna and Max are somehow partly connected still just like Will is partly connected to Vecna still. I think the fillers where the characters were having conversations etc was just getting to know them better... and how they had grown and were getting in touch with their emotions... Lots of love involved and that plays a huge part in strength where Vecna plays on fear and guilt... remember, love and happiness was mentioned to Eleven about how her powers worked better than when using anger. I don't think those emotional talks and feelings and telling each other how they loved one another were in there for nothing. There is usually a method to the madness as the saying goes. But I think Will is going to be in the bigger picture in the finale. Just my thoughts.

I agree i have posted this before but I think it will circle back to how it all started with Will and 11 being the focus along with core cast of season 1. Any other characters will be killed off or written out. The brothers are great writers and great stories tend to conclude this way.

I don’t think the counselor has anything to do with Vecna. I think that was a way for them to find out that the kids this was happening to had experienced traumatic events and didn’t feel comfortable telling the truth about their feelings and that’s what made their minds open enough for Venca to infiltrate because they felt alone. Part of what saved Max was her positive memories so Vecna was empowered to prey on people who were living in a negative feedback loop. The only way they’d really find that out quickly was by stealing the counselor’s files to read the similarities.

Overall, I honestly feel like season 4 is one of the best seasons! It explained everything! Part 2 was good but I agree that you could've reduced the time by easily an hour if you removed some of the fluff. The fighting scenes were great. I loved how they brought everyone back together in the end. I was not excited about all the Russian scenes, and felt they were a little drawn out. Also agree that Mike became more of a supporting actor this season, which was disappointing. El and Max in my opinion stole the show this season. I loved their story lines. I don't think that El will be able to defeat Vecna alone. So I'm predicting that maybe her sister will return in season 5 since she has powers as well. Also feel like Max will live but she will no longer will be able to see and she will have a deeper connection to Vecna. This will be helpful in the way she could communicate with him in some way. One more theory for season 5, they never showed that Pa was dead. I mean it would be unrealistic for him to survive but I wouldn't be surprised if he comes back and maybe reveals that there are some other "seeds of Vecna" out there and they ultimately help with defeating him. But again, take away a few of the drawn out scenes, I think this was by far one of the best (do I dare say the best) seasons. I thoroughly enjoyed the backstory to upside down world and Vecna. They honestly could've ended the show with this season and I would've been thoroughly satisfied.

So we know that vecna is missing we also know that everyone he has possessed or is come in contact with can still feel him whenever he's near or around Max is in this comatose state but when El went into her mind she couldn't find Max anywhere does retina have Max helping him grooming him possessing her will Max have to fight El in season 5 as vecna..?? An that would go with the theory of us having to love both villain an hero

This Will storyline is so weird and off putting compared to everything else in the show, and not because of the subject matter but how it's being executed. The painting reveal was not a confession and I'm tired of people saying that it was, it was a sign of Will giving up hope and accepting the reality that Mike loves Eleven when he realizes how worried Mike is for her in the van scene. Will realizes Mike won't ever love him like he loves Eleven, so that's why Will is lying, to help Mike and his relationship in that moment instead of remaining delusional about his crush on Mike. Mike is oblivious to Will's feelings because they've been distant for over a year since Eleven returned into Mike's life, Mike's focus is on Eleven now more than ever so he's not gonna pick up on the small things that Will's hinting at. Plus, even in season 1 Dustin has described Mike as a pretty oblivious person at times when talking about how Mike didn't realize Eleven joining the group pissed off Lucas because Mike's spending more time with her than with him, so it's a similar situation with Will. But the weirdest thing is how Will is not only crushing on Mike, but contemplating coming out and confessing his love for him... while Eleven is technically his sister and he knows she's with Mike and loves him. I know Will is probably hurt/confused about his emotions and his identity... but it is odd to me that he is unable to accept the fact that Mike is taken until the van scene. Like, he spent all that time on that painting to impress Mike in hopes that Mike reciprocates his feelings but Mike and Eleven are so in love with each other that I don't know what Will was expecting from the painting reveal other than a "wow this is amazing, good job man, you are so talented." *pats on the shoulder*. This show has never teased Mike liking Will in a romantic way... you can try to pick out scenes all you want but there's never been anything definitive or in your face that shows Mike likes Will like that, but there are things showing the complete opposite of that with Mike not showing Will enough attention and being oblivious to him in general so I wouldn't say there was queerbaiting in that sense, but maybe in the sense that Will never officially came out. Obviously Will is gonna come out in season 5 since the Duffer bros say he will be a big focus. Mike, Will's friends and his family will all accept and love him all the same, and he will feel welcomed, and hopefully he'll have something to do with stopping Vecna and the upside down and he'll be considered a hero and no longer feel like he doesn't belong. That would be a real character arc, especially for a closeted gay kid in the 80s. I'd want more of that and less of hopelessly crushing on Mike.

I think we keep forgetting this takes place in the 80’s. Coming out wasn’t as acceptable back then. There weren’t Platforms for them find their community and support. More then likely Will is still confused about his feelings and can’t fully articulate what he is feeling.

This is what, no offense, annoys me about the whole argument of "why hasn't Will come out yet": people are looking at it from a 21st century lens. Now I am straight but I know from friends that coming out is one of the hardest things ever to do. One of my best friends only came out to me 4ish years ago and we've known each other since we were 5. Now put yourself in Will's shoes. It's the 80s, a much more regressive time in terms of LGBTQ+ rights: Indiana is conservative state (as far as I know, from the UK here): Will has had slurs thrown at him from his own dad in the past. OF COURSE HE'S STRUGGLING! That's why his talk with Jonathan meant so much. Jonathan obviously knows, but he doesn't want to pressure Will and wants him to come out to him in his own time. Considering the time period, when Robin came out to Steve, it was an ALMOST MIRACLE that Steve accepted it like that. The relief on Robin's face was palpable. If she came out to the wrong person, she could be subject to all kinds of abuse - we don't want that to happen to our sweet boy do we? It's becoming likely that Will will have more of a role in Season 5 again, and with that (hopefully), some more juicy bits for Noah Schnapp to kill. Let's see what happens, and I trust the Duffer Bros will deliver on this. Not going to leave it on a bad note, but just had to get that off my chest. Loved Season 4, still a bit of an emotional mess. Bring on Season 5

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN: why have they made such a big plot point over the series about how “he likes it cold” and even simple hot baths are too much? Just to set up this season’s use of fire/flamethrower as a means of defeating the monsters/Vecna? They’ve stressed “he” doesn’t like any amount of heat, but have not showed the upside down to be some realm of frigid temperatures- and in this season they have been showing it to be a hellscape glowing red w/ lightning strikes, etc.. evoking the opposite of cold. SO- wtf is up with this plot point that has been so crucial to the storyline in earlier seasons and that has neve really been explained?

If we do explore the upside down in season five.... I'd like to grow a love for vecna so deep that I wouldn't want him to die.. I like dialogue where I can flip my feelings for a character...it will have more of an impact during the final fight scene

Since we know that l went looking for Max in her mind and that we couldn't find her we also know that vecna it's still connected with everyone he possessed could vector be grooming Max or possessing her is she the one who may have to fight ill and season 5 that will go with my theory of loving our villain and our hero making for a very emotional final fight

This was by far the best season so far, but I didn’t appreciate the actors of the show hyping up the finale saying there would be a ton of death, leading everyone to believe we would be losing a bunch of characters. We lost one character and it was someone who was introduced this season…so my emotions weren’t really high for them. We also had a main character fake out death that i didn’t like. I did like the villain and all of the action we got though!

I loved the finale! It had me on a roller coaster of emotion! 😆😲🥹🥲😢🫣😱 But in all the commentary about Will, it's always that he has feelings for Mike. I think Mike is his best friend, period! And he just doesn't know how to tell him and how he will be received. When he looks at him and El it's not out of jealousy but because he probably feels he will never have what they have. I can only imagine what coming out in the 80s was like! He probably didn't have anyone as a reference for the type of love he was looking for so that was all he had to look toward. Especially since his bro and Nancy were a little rocky. Erika has been my favorite character since she was introduced! I was just glad she didn't get killed off! I got nervous for her a few times! Just the facts! 😅

@@Soccercrazyigboman I've just watched it the one time and no ultimately it did not help El since with Max being braindead she still lost. The point was to distract a portion of the hive mind with the hope it help El. Not everything works out as planned. Either way it definitely helped Soviet citizens near the prison because if the demidogs and demigorgon got out they would have continued to cause death and havoc.

@@Soccercrazyigboman it did, killing those demogorgans helped take out Vecna...and all the flying bat looking things. They are all connected to Vecna. So Vecna lost parts of himself and his strength. Which then helped the other 3 burn him...you have to remember that all 3 playouts were happening at the same time...

I was cynical about the deaths. I kept getting hung up for the sensory deprivation scene because you do not go into a deprivation tank with clothes. I know why they did it production-wise. I wanted a tad more humor.
