That squid looked crazy big! That's a meal on itself. The corn thing intrigued me. Didn't see such markets last time but I guess we were otherwise distracted. The Tar Pits museum was my favourite place last time.

I cook squid that way but have to be careful to not overcook. This looked like it got overcooked so it will be rubbery. But for the topping, we just use olive oil with garlic and spread over it. Then squeeze lemon. It compliments the squid flavor.

You need to tenderise the squid in in low simmering water till you can easily peirce with a knife point then marinate it (recommend lemon zest, olive oil, seasoning overnight if possible) before grilling it to serve for the charcoal taste if you want super soft bbq squid. Just a tip from a concerned Australian squid connoisseur.
