If Rami Malek could win oscar for his portrayal of Freddie Mercury, so can Austin as Elvis. Rami was great but in my opinion Austin surpassed even that. His rigorous training in vocals was definitely a plus too!

Agreed! For Bohemian Rhapsody, I still saw Rami portraying Freddie Mercury. But for Austin, he became Elvis himself and that's all I saw. He definitely deserves an Oscar!

Watched the movie twice! The first time I was focusing on evaluating resemblances, but the second time I was purely watching Austin channeling Elvis! What a great performance! Austin deserves an Oscar!

I took my grandma to see this and she cried so many tears of joy remembering iconic moment after iconic moment. Elvis has span 5 generations of our family... and he thought he accomplished nothing. True story of the never ending search to be loved.

Don’t usually watch these KZfaq movie videos. Nor do I comment often. But I saw the movie. Austin Butler is like no actor I’ve ever seen. Exceptionally talented is an understatement. Who can act, sing, dance, move, walk, smile like someone everyone knows. Especially if that person is Elvis Presley. Elvis is - will always be the King of Music Entertainment. Austin Butler will always be the King of A Leading Actor Role - in his portrayal of him. No lip syncing - Amazing!!!

The scene where he sings Trouble always sends me. My favourite scene when he’s grinding then rolling on the floor. And the scene with Suspicious Minds. I watched the movie 3 times and got my parents to watch and they loved it as well. Hope Austin gets an Oscar

Butler's performance just goes to show how literal years or eating, sleeping, and breathing a role has such amazing results. granted there is obviously insane levels of talent when it comes to this guy but his commitment to a role is what really blows me away. it's also crazy to see an actor essentially re-live the character's life who they are portraying; from what I can tell, Butler was a pretty minor actor until this role so it seems that the nervous energy he had about wanting to make it big translated to Elvis's own climb to stardom. bravo all around 👏

just got home from seeing the movie, had no idea Austin sang some of the songs! that's amazing 🤩 my mom cried during his performance of through suspicious eyes. Her mom (my grandma) grew up as one of these screaming girl fans during the real Elvis reign, I can just imagine how she felt at one of his concerts seeing as to how the movie portrayed them!

I have to say - this is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. My grandma was brought to tears multiple times and she said the setting of the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s were spot on. Austin Butler nailed it and I think Elvis himself would’ve been impressed too. Anyone saying he doesn’t look like Elvis - just watch the movie. It’s soooo good.

Hi, I'm a time traveller. Austin Butler got himself a standing ovation, Oscar award in hand, and had given a very emotional speech. Jokes aside, I think people would riot if he didn't win because it would hurt the Hollywood industry reputation for not doing the man justice. I say this as man who is hard to please when it comes to films. I don't even have Netflix and I'm very picky on what I think is worth my time.

@@bryanclooney6102 It is already out in theaters now. My friends went to go see it last week. It already has been released. It came out on June 14th. Not this month of the 14th. It's already playing in theaters. My friends said it was good. :) It was like the real thing. :) They said they really enjoy every bit of it, and it was like the real Elvis. And the Character Austin Butler sounds exactly like him too.

I just saw this film, and it was amazing! He is like the reincarnation of Elvis Presley! He KILLED it: the look, the moves, the mannerisms, and the voice! Wow, his career is about to EXPLODE! @@TiboFPS I agree; still want to see him in a James Dean type role. To me, his personality and over all look is James Dean; honestly, I do not understand where people see either Depp or Travolta. I think he is so much better looking than either of those two. All I know is that he has tremendous dramatic acting skills that need to be utilized to their fullest. P.S. If you are younger and unfamiliar to who James Dean was, google him; Austin said it is one of his most admired actors from the 50s. He died at 24 and only made 3 pictures, but all were Oscar nominated.

Austin Butler was astonishing. I totally forgot he was not the real Elvis while on-screen. His voice change was beyond what I expected. And we had Tom Hanks next to him... Yet Butler is all you see. It's hard to explain. He just got possessed by Elvis I guess. They could already engrave his name on that Oscar.

Quel film! J'y ai appris le parcours artistique du King que j'ignorais. Le parallèle social est fort et nous fait comprendre ses choix et le coeur mis dans son chant. L'énergie du corps que transmet Austin Butler est phénoménale, cet acteur que je ne connaissais pas est impressionnant. Bravo à tous les acteurs, actrices, chanteurs, chanteuses, musiciens pour leur justesse. Magnifique réalisation qui nous plonge dans cette époque avec ravissement toute en modernité qu'on connait de ce réalisateur. Un film à la hauteur du magnifique artiste qu'était Elvis Presley.

When I first saw the trailer, I really thought this movie would flop. I thought this actor looks nothing like Elvis. In fact, Elvis is such a unique act, nobody can really be him even imitate him. But holy shit, after seeing the movie, I really thought that the actor was the king. They pulled it off. Aside from nailing his dance moves to the detail, the direction really is what sold the illusion.

In my mind it’s a done deal that Austin is going to get the Oscar. Remi Malek did, and both performances were unbelievable. Each actor totally became Freddie and Elvis, respectively. If someone else gets Best Actor I’m going to be crushed!

Don’t forget Taron Egerton’a performance as Elton John!! All three of those portrayals are definitely the catalyst for a little thing I’m calling the Rock n Roll Cinematic Universe, or RRCU for short!!!

This was the first film that was a must see for me IN THE THEATER since COVID. Lifelong fan of Baz's brilliance! And I am thrilled for what lies ahead for Austin. Oscars galore are in order for this masterpiece!
