Street Fighter 6 has arrived, and with it, the start of the next generation of fighting games! This video is here to help you understand how all the characters in SF6 work, and help you find your main character! Street Fighter 6 is full of many unique characters who all have tons of fantastic gameplay. The Rule of Cool always applies, yes, but I hope this video helps you understand what each character is capable of!

I really appreciate that SF6 has several versions of zoners and grapplers. Every other fighting game recently just feels like there's one or two zoners, ONE grappler, and like 20 rushdowns.

Love love *love* that Ryu is moving into the 'mentor' role and is beginning to resemble his master Gouken in both appearance and moveset. Gouken was my favorite in SF4 and was always sad that was his final canonical appearance, but Ryu assuming his master's cloak just fills me with the manly tears 😃😭.

Jamie is a really cool concept for a rush down character. Having a mechanic that forces the opponent to try and keep pressure on a character that already wants to be in is interesting.

Everyone in this game is terrifyingly good at fighting. Every character feels like they have been given the tools to not only open people up but are also able to diversify and execute on their intended gameplan. I can't wait to play this game.

As somebody new to the franchise that played MK myself, the combo timing is what gave me the most trouble. You can kinda dial it in when it comes to MK, but the timing for SF is different. It's going to take some messing around to get used to

I'm not even new to SF but I've been playing Guilty Gear Strive and MK games at higher levels. I'm also having trouble with the combo timing but the best advice I can give so far is it all comes down to buffering specials and canceling out your normals. For example: Cammy's 5HP>214LP, I've noticed as soon as I hit HP I need to hold down and start buffering the quartercircle. Stuff where Marisa cancels from a quartercircle to a charged quartercircle is still beyond me

Still don’t know who I will main. I have always been interested in Juri, but Kimberly reminds me of Sakura and I also am intrigued by Manon’s gameplay style

I’m new to street fighter (fighting games in general really, I’ve had a bit of experience in Injustice 2 but that’s about it) and watching you do that 21 hit combo with Ryu at the start of the video blew me away. I’m exceptionally bad at fighting games, but I hope I can get to a point where I can make someone feel like how you made me feel pulling off a combo like that! 😅

I came across your channel from a KZfaq suggestion and I'm glad I checked out some of your videos. I watched this one and the SF6 10 tips one. Both were so good. I like how you explain things that people who enjoy playing fighting games can understand without knowing all of the terminology, such as "plus on block." I also like that your videos aren't filled with fluff. You get straight to the point and don't block the game play with your head or overlays. I look forward to watching more videos on your channel.

Great guide!! I'm torn between Cammy and Marisa. This will be the first fighting game that I want to try to commit to so I need someone relatively beginner friendly. Both the extremes of fast rush-down attacks and massive clobbering punches are appealing to me; I'll have to try both and see which works best.

SF6 is a great example of what a BIG roster is. SF5 had 16 chars but it felt way way less. SF6 has just 2 more and yet the roster does not feel short changed or lacking. Brilliant video as always rooflemonger. Cheers to this good game.

I subscribed to your channel because of a dbz fighters patch where you narrowly described each change for each character. The amount of work you did to explain everything really caught me at the time. And I can say for sure that I don't regret anything because you are constantly putting out these videos making our life much easier. It's even better explained than the game itself. Yesterday I fooled around with some characters but now that I am watching this video a lof of stuff is really connecting for me. Thanks for this, I have a way better understanding of the characters now. You sir deserve a lot more subs than you have in this channel. Keep up the amazing work! Lots of kudos for you!
