It is indeed but only because it borders the Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland. Prague, Budapest and Cracow are very popular for the turists and Slovakian Bratislava stays a little under these cities in my opinion. The second thing is the fact that its actually a poor country compared to its neighbors so they spend less on turism it self :) But its a really beautiful country with nice people, culture and food.

@@ps9898 Poor compared to the neighbors? Do not be silly. For a long time, GDP per capita in Slovakia is higher than in Hungary or Poland. Only in the Czech Republic is it higher.

How I miss Slovakia! When I started going in the late 80's those sausages were about .50 US cents, not the 7 Euro today. Most underrated and under visited country in Europe. LIke it that way. Best place was the daily open market, where the bubka's would compete to sell me huge goose liver and a goose to go with it.

I see fried potato pancakes. It's very close to the Gromperekichelcher in Luxembourg. I make them and my colleagues tell me that they are even better than their grandmothers' and in Luxembourg it's the ultimate compliment.

We existed as one kingdom with Hungary for 1000 years so of course we share many dishes and other cultural things. I would not call them "hungarian" tho. You find this kind of dishes in Poland, Germany, Czech and other countries too. We share so much history.

Na Slovensku byvaju trhy a jarmoky tradicne. Jedla sice dost zdrazeli, ale je to o inom trochu, nie okradani turistov. Atmosferu treba zazit.
