1988-1998 Chevrolet C1500 pickup trucks respond really well to performance suspension upgrades. They also look cool when lowered. RideTech's new StreetGRIP Suspension system let's you have it all. It lowers your truck while improving handling and ride quality. You can still carry a load or tow a small trailer. The heart of the system is a pair of extra long, heavy duty C-notches, along with adjustable monotube shock absorbers and custom matched coil springs. Nothing else on the market will match StreetGRIP with respect to handling and ride quality. The ultra-premium shocks cost more but completely transform your driving experience. Forged "drop" spindles, rear shock extenders and heavy duty, powder coated brackets with grade 8 hardware are included.

I got the DJM kit with the tubular control arms and everything for about $1000 and couldn't be happier and my truck is lower than that one my c notch isn't as long but it's a lot thicker

I had some problems with shipping and getting all of my suspension kit at once but in the end I'm super happy with the kit. I will say you will run into a few issues depending on the exhaust you run and having some clearance issues with wheels tires and wheel well/ fenders

Interesting, clean set up. I would like some info, so I'll try here & on the site... With several companies already offering drop spindles, some quality ones that adds to the wheels sticking about .5" further out & some quality ones that doesn't, why design another offering? Does your spindles push the wheels out or not? Are these spindles designed for low duty or the heavy duty rotors? On those front wheels, 18x8 w/255/40/18, are those w/5" backspace (12 to 13mm offset) minimum? My truck is a 1990 GMC Sierra Sle 5.7 V8 2wd regular cab/short bed... I would like to use your strong arms to replace stock control arms. Thought about having the lower strong control arm weld up w/a plate to hold coil spring in place, since it's designed for your air bag setups. Any problems known going this route? Wouldn't mind later on getting rid of the leaf springs and using a four link & watts bar. The thing is, I could care less about laying all the way out. My ride will be a daily driver, so I would like to use JRI coilovers w/that rear setup. JRI has an adjustable hydraulic cylinder integrated w/in the coilovers. Any forseen problems w/that setup? Thanks for any info shared/given...

Not sure if this will be seen but I’m worried about wheel/tire figment if I lower my 96 Cheyenne. My fronts stick out about an inch or so and the rears (just by looking) seem to be about flush with the well. Not to mention the lip inside the well. Any ideas w/o changing wheels and tires? I’m on a 10-10.5 wheel (not sure in backspace) and riding on 275s. They’re 15” wheels.

Okay this may be a dumb question but I need to know. I have a 1993 cheyenne ck3500 single rear wheel single cab. I'm wondering if I can use lowering kits for duallys without problem. Can't seem to find any lowering kits specifically for a single wheel 3500 anywhere and not really sure if there's much if any difference between one or the other. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I'm having a hell of a time finding an OBS 88-98 RCSB with a V8 and power windows. Anybody have any recommendations on where I can locate one? And it goes without saying that this suspension system is the cream of the crop for these trucks.

That’s alot of wheel gap.Really like the idea of a tuneable static drop but 4/6 is such a dad drop kit. I’d pay $1,500 for a 5/7 with all the same characteristics..but a 4/6?....maybe when I’m 65

Some 4/6 kits have clearance issues on the lower control arm. Are there any issues with this kit?

It looks like they all do I just did some research on 2 of the major companies belltech and DJM NOTE that you need to make a slight modification to the lower control arms. In other words you have to shave it with a grinder is what I did to my 1999 tahoe (2" spindle drop) using the factory 15" rims. I'm about to install belltech spindles on my 1997 silverado ( 2" spindle drop with a 1" drop coil spring)and I came across I will have to shave off the lower control arm too with stock 15" rims.

I'm stuck between belltech and ridetech... The belltech sales an 4/6 to 5/7 adjustable fir 1200 . Ride tech is only a 4/6. For 1500 . The price isn't the point I just want a nice smooth ride. The only reason I'd like to go with belltech is to be able to adjust the Chevy lean.

Hardly 20 years too late, these trucks are cheaper and more popular than ever and with LS swaps becoming more common these classic trucks are getting a lot more attention. Awesome that Ridetech offers adjustable dampers too. I like the USMags Roadster U120 wheels seen here. I can only find them in Anthracite finish over here. Are they 20x9.5 and 20x8 on this truck, Ridetech? Cheers

Frank M I have djm and back when I got it they didnt say the spindle have rubbing issues and my rear shocks feels like it's not stiff enough to stop the back end from slamming on small bumps at 45 mph

Joshua avila o yeah I remember that screw up like ago! I use to hey drop beams on my Ford's but after years of eating up front suspensions & tires. It was easier and cheaper to switch out the whole front worth yota or S10

Hi Frank, It's true, you have a lot of options and all of the kits make your truck look good. The StreetGRIP system takes the concept further with ride quality that will blow your mind plus much better handling. It won't out-handle a Ferrari with this kit, but it will handle like a newer truck. Thanks

Leaf springs remain with this particular kit. You get a flip plus a heavy duty C-Notch for axle clearance.

if the adjustable shocks are around 150-200 each it's actually decently priced. Ridetech makes quality stuff n put alot of R&D into the ride quality and handling. flip kit, c notch, adjustable shocks mounts spindles and springs n hardware it's actually pretty reasonable

Thanks. Yeah..Worth the money. The shocks have impact forged aluminum bodies (not stamped steel), monotube valving (like a Porsche), an adjusting knob to fine tune the valving to your preference and a 1,000,001 mile warranty. Your best girl will really appreciate the ride quality :-)

Cheaper stuff looks good at car shows. When you drive they become death traps. If you plan on daily driver your truck than spend the extra money for something made for handling and looks 2nd. This company also stands behind their product.

No sir. Spinldes maintain proper A-arm geometry. A-arms with drop spring pockets reduce ground clearance. Spindles are the way to go.
