We bought two Aussie classics for a song at GraysOnline and now they are in an epic battle for Holden versus Ford supremacy - with a budget of just $2000 each. Scotty & Kian are team Ford in the AU Falcon XR6, with Bubba & Kain in the mighty VT Holden Calais V8. Bring on the budget mods!

220kmh would be easy with a stock 6. I have a AU xr8 sitting around which when it was daily driven, it hit 239kmh. I love how everyone thought the 6's were faster, i contest that and say I put all xr6 owners to shame at calder.

The AU's are the most ugly of all the Falcons!🤮 Then we will have to go back to the 80s with the XD, E and F 🤢 Oh and don't forget about the EA and B too. @@lukewilson5941 I don't know man, I'd take an EA-ED over the whale-looking EFs and ELs. AU XRs aren't terrible looking and XD-XF look fine, they just had quality issues. The XH is awful though.

Excellent. !! I got my AU Fairmont to run 12s for $1200 and that included buying the car !!!!! No VCT either. Commodore guys know their stuff though and trying to tune an AU is basically hopeless !!

Great vid fellas👍I spent $2000 on 5.0lt V8 VR ute, like $600 exhaust, $300 cold air intake, chip n manifold $1000 although these prices were post 2005 turning 220kw 300hp on dyno. $1000 more I brought upgrade VT SS brakes n I haven’t touch the auto. Keep up work fellas, can’t wait for next vid.

Both brands have there treasures and there DISASTERS! I remember getting a late 70's Ford Cortina for about $800 as my first car around 1998 after getting my learners. Loved that small old school look with a dark green finish and now moved onto a yellow and black striped SLR 5000 Torana which is my personal favourite car. also for some strange reason i want to do up a Datsun 120y as my mum had one and there are memories of travelling around and good times 😎

Al T the only dodgy thing was the homodore cost twice the price and the Ford had an exhaust leak. Not to mention the 2 extra cylinders and 1 extra litre engine capacity, and the fact that auto is always quicker than manual for drag racing, and the fact that the homodore came with aftermarket extractors to give it more power.

Very interested on the following videos. Used to own a tickford XH XR6, was a awesome run around which had exhaust, massive cam, top end goodies, headwork and slicks! Was a weapon against 5.0 and 5.7s! Really, really interested to see where this goes. Not a the die hard fan either way but really have a spot for the falcons! can see a turbo going on that AU pretty quickly.

Used to be common knowledge that to beat a standard xr6 (eb onwards) you needed 200 kw in a ford or holden v8. That why tickford did the xr8 sprint in the ed.

Rust in bottom boot lid due to water leaking through the spoiler & running down inside the boot seam. My XR8 Au series II had the same problem.

If you take the interior trims off the rear doors on the AU Falcon there is a very high chance of rust at the top of the door between the window and quarter glass.
