This shook me by surprise ( yes, that is not a typo)! I just hope all these games actually come out and land on the Switch 2 (aside from the other consoles as well). Gotta admit, a commercial where a blackout happens, would be perfect plug in for a hybrid like the Switch 2.

By the time this gets released, people will live in space stations looking at planet Earth through sci-fi optics. Then, when they load these Streets of Rage/Golden Axe fakes and ask: "why does it look like shit?" - the answer will be: "it's supposed to, it's retro". This looks almost exactly like an old beat-em up called "RAGE", released around the year 2000, which was pretty decent for the time but nothing to write home about it. Today, when we have games like Sleeping Dogs and SIFU, - this kind of 3D is a bad joke. The so-called Golden Axe looks like a game for smart-phones, which by the time this gets released - might not even exist🤣.

Jet Set Radio looks sick. SoR looks like a re-make or maybe even a prequel. The environment still reads 90's Just thought of something. How long do you think Capcom will hold out on giving us another Final Fight seeing all the fan fare SoR is getting from a modern audience? This could lead to great things folks.

Capcom isn't doing things for the sake of competing with Sega directly. As long as we don't get another Streetwise both FF and SoR can coexist.

@@willdiesel8431 It's not competition, it was to say that Capcom might look at the money side of things and decide to revamp Final Fight. The industry goes where the money flows.

@@SmootholdGuy they were already going to. That leak from a year ago basically said another Final Fight was due out in 2024 IIRC. Another thing to consider is that Capcom has alot more going on. Streetwise was the last game solely focused on the Final Fight IP. That schlock was terrible enough that the series could you a hiatus.

Back in the day? It was called SPIKEOUT by Sega And it spawned the Yakuza series indirectly.

@@cignaga Fighting Force was initially supposed to be a 3d Streets of Rage game when Core and Eidos had the IP at one point until they lost the rights owing to disagreements with Sega.

Not necessarily. Only because SOR4 was so good, they pretty much mastered the 2D versions of the original games. And I'm honestly not sure if they could have topped it. So I'm actually interested to see how it translates into 3D personally cause at least it's something new and different.

I'm sorry to say but for now I'm feeling disappointed they made the next sor 3d. With the huge success of sor4, they should have used the same sor4 2d art style formula for this and especially for Golden Axe I would have loved to have seen that under Lizard Cube. Golden Axe would have been incredible under that art style but they're going with some mediocre looking 3d direction. 🤷‍♂️ I might change my mind and I'll end up loving them but just seing these short clips, honestly dont look like much to me at the moment.

@@willdiesel8431 Yeah i know that and it's the early stages of development but just how I feel because I wanted the next sor to remain the same art style and especially for Golden Axe. I know there's hardly any gameplay at the moment but just looking at the environment it's looking gloomy to me unlike sor4 where it looks nice and vibrant and just great you know. Like I said though I could very well change my mind but it's mostly because of my expectations of wanting them to be the same art style as sor4 why I feel this way at the moment.

I hope Sega does a beta on SOR 5 to get feedback from the fans because I'm not feeling the look so far and that will be the big reason as to why I either buy or don't buy the game. It definitely has an "Ugly Sonic" moment to it so I hope Sega can mimic the artwork that Dotemu gave us in SOR 4. "If it ain't broke don't fix it"...that was part of the reason I passed up on "The King of Fighters 14 & 15". I hated the look of both those games.

I’m here for Streets of Rage. I’m going to give myself a chance to test & see how the 3D model is before I judge it. I’m all about Gameplay so as long as that’s on point, then I don’t care about the graphics as much.

@@dark2deeds it's gonna be playable in the next Yakuza game (Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth) as it was originally made in 1998 by the creator of the Yakuza series, Super Monkey Ball, Daytona USA, aka Toshiro Nagoshi, who also helped make Shenmue. Spikeout was always referred to as Sega's unofficial 3D Streets of Rage. It was arcade only which is probably why you didn't hear of it, however, a remake of it was attempted by Dimps (makers of the Dragon ball Budokai series) in the early 2000's for the original XBox but it wasn't as good. Emulation wise you can play Spikeout and Spikeout: Final Edition using the Supermodel 3 emulator. And using Naomi emulator you can play it's spinoff games Spiker's Battle and Slashout.

I loved Streets of Rage 4, so it’s good to see them coming back with SOR5. Hopefully we’ll get some guest characters this time around, such as Michael Jackson from Sega’s 1998 game Moonwalker. I feel like that’d be pretty awesome!
