Part 2! Hill starts:kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pLiPgMqcsJnOhJc.html Since so many people have asked: The Corvette uses the same steering wheel for manual and automatic cars. The paddles on my steering wheel are to turn the active rev match system on and off. A video explaining the active rev match system can be found on my channel. Thanks!

+shaneclarke995 you can go from any gear to any gear. Would you want to? Well, if you're at high rev in 4th and you shift to first, it'll let you, but you'll probably screw up your transmission and blow an engine in the process... So you won't get far. But yes, you can skip gears (3->1, 2->4, 4->1, etc... Though, first gear is generally for starting, so shifting back to first typically isn't done).
@tinyman3928 жыл бұрын
+shaneclarke995 You should be in gear, technically, when coming to a stop. When stopped (0 MPH), you should be in neutral. Otherwise, you'll wear through clutches quite quickly.

The difficult part for most is starting off in 1st. Just about every car I've driven has its own 1st gear roll on temperament. I wonder why car manufacturers haven't figured out how to make that roll on easier and reduce stalling. Starting on a hill is also something to practice. You can't roll back far if a car's behind you.

@@deacondank6249 Use throttle but not too many, your best way to truly get the car to move is moving the rpms up to 2,000, and then let off the clutch slowly until you feel it dipping and you will then feel movement you’ll know, the Tachometer will also tell you and how it will do that is the rpm gauge will go down a little and then it starts to move so keep practicing don’t give up man, also Motion will tell you and you know if you got it right if you feel motion and keep doing that until 5 mph 10 km/h, and then accelerate and it will go, simple just concentrate and don’t be nervous, I struggled as well at first but after a while it becomes second nature.

So I bought an '94 Integra as my first car. It has Enzo R racing seats w/ harnesses, exhaust, and NRG wheel. Maybe some other mods. Didn't even know how to drive stick. I basically just watched a shit ton of manual videos before hand. Had a few tips from family who drives stick. But only one person got in the car w/ me and he drove. I basically drove it around the parking lot and stalled a bunch. Couldn't take it home that day because I wasn't comfortable driving on streets. Someone took it home for me. But the next day I just drove it around the block a bit and said fuck it. Drove it to work. Stalled a few times, held up traffic a little. But on the way back I didn't stall at all. It's so much fun and has got way easier. People look at me crazy walking around w/ my steering wheel. I've been stoked the passed few days. Despite the accidental burnouts I'm in love. She pulls hard. This video did help a bit though

The C7 Corvette has hill hold assist which holds the car in place giving you time to add power prior to releasing the clutch. Once accustomed to the clutch/power application, fast application of power and slipping the clutch will allow you to prevent the car from drifting back. Practice makes perfection!

Lol, new automatics are faster than manuals, but he isn't a car guy cause he doesn't want a manual, alright lol. If you live in the middle of a huge busy city, manual are a pain in the ass, 1,2,3,2,1,2,3,2,1,2,3,2,1,2,3,2,1. gets annoying. I'd personally love to own a Manual sports car, because I personally enjoy driving them, but it's not for everyone, and just because someone doesn't like it it doesn't mean they're not a car guy.

+McNasty I do want to learn how to drive one but. Idk it seems very overwhelming
@mcnasty35978 жыл бұрын
I kind of thought that at first too, thought of a manual was kind of overwhelming also. But honestly once you sit down in one in a parking lot and play around with it, it's easy. I haven't had to drive one on a steep incline yet, which, I will be incredibly nervous when that day comes. But the shifting and everything becomes second nature, muscle memory. After driving the same manual car a while, you won't look at your RPM's or down at your shifter ever.. The sound and feel of the car will be enough to let you know when to up/down shift etc. It's almost like you become one with the car, kind of corny but it's true lmao.
