Join me for a 30 minutes pilates session with exercises to relieve tension and pain in the neck, shoulders and upper back. This workout is suitable for beginners and has an emphasis on releasing tension in the neck tension, shoulders, upper back and improving poor posture. The exercises will both strengthen muscles that are underused and create instability in the upper body, as well as stretch muscles that are tense from over use. This therapeutic sequence will help combat stress, reduce inflammation, relieve discomfort and increase range of motion. It's also great for homeworkers and anyone who spends a lot of time at the computer.
One to do on a regular basis if you suffer from upper body tension, so do bookmark it for future use. Regular practice and repetition will help to release built-up stress in these areas.

I’ve been recovering from a prolapsed disc in my neck, I’ve lost a lot of strength due to steroid and Botox injections in my back to prevent spasm. These movements have been really gentle but feel correct to gradually ease back into a strengthening program. Thank you for your teaching, I always feel great after I follow this video.

I am 76 years old, former competitive swimmer, aquafit instructor and participant in anything doable. I joined you 21/2 years ago when covid closed our fitness facilities. I began with your first and then second senior classes, moved up to regular classes. I really like your newest senior class July 2022! The balance challenges are great! The specialty classes of spinal mobility, feet and ankles are great to throw in once a week. The barre and ballet classes are a great variety to regular pilates and have the added benefit of NO Rolldowns! Wonderful work, Rachel!

Dear Rachel, thank you for the beautiful workouts. I managed to pull a tendon at the back of my leg recently during an endurance test for my cardiologist! Had to take it easy ever since, but slowly getting back to normal helped very much by your workouts.

I have been coming to the UK for more than 35 years and I have never experienced it so hot and humid. Yes it has been very hot especially at night very humid too! Just the perfect place of workout for me. Please everyone here in UK keep hydrated and protect your skin. A/C a must now I'm thinking.

Thanks! Sending greetings from the US Midwest. Your workouts are excellent for me and other seniors who have osteoarthritis or other joint conditions. They are gentle on our joints, but still build muscle and sometimes challenge our strength. I think that I’m seeing more toned muscles already in only a few weeks of practice with you several times a week. You obviously put a lot of mental and physical effort into your channel.

Why is it that I've only discovered this video now? I was looking for a 30 shoulder/upper back workout to help my "folder shoulder" after extended choral rehearsals. My shoulders and upper back are stiff from holding music. I need to do these exercises at least once a week.
