I keep mine running as well bought it in around 2005, got a sacrificial for free for spare parts. I gave up on the switch just touch the wires together to kill it. Reason i keep it going is it has a pole saw attachment with it. Only thing i have to rebuild the carb diaphram a so many years but now that i found ethanol free gas its seems to last longer.

It really won’t die. Every year I get excited to go get a stihl.. but then it starts up on the second pull.

@@design2survive i wont pay for a stihl overrated i have an echo vac blower that keeps going no carb issues so if i buy anything it will be echo. My buddy back in DC runs a sideline arborist business and he uses echo now as well. I use both the pole saw and trimmer quite a bit so i definitely dont want to have to contend with two pieces of equipment keeping them going. Two strokes are great until they arent then they can be a nightmare.

@@design2survive you must winterize your equipment and not run ethanol?
@design2survive2 ай бұрын
@@GregariousAntithesis I never run ethanol, and am hit and miss with winterizing.

when the strimmer stop spinning, is this the clutch usually?
@Chris-pj1os Жыл бұрын
Did you ever get an answer to this question? Mine is doing the same.
@kanhdahar2 Жыл бұрын
my flexible shaft had snapped inside and thats why it stopped working/spinning, ive just ordered a new one. it can be a number of things. Its quite east to take the strimmer apart and see whats wrong.@@Chris-pj1os

Yes, often times it is the clutch.

If you lift the trimmer up in the air it will grab the clutch again and spin but when you drop it down to the ground it will grab false neutral again
